Sanremo might not even be used to select the entrant, as it's not really intended for ESC to begin with. A speculated fan favourite is Emma Marrone which is why many Italians want to internally select other than select form Sanremo.

I have doubts she'll do it too. It's just in April she released her album, and in October she re-released an acoustic version of the album with a bonus track called "La mia città" which people have speculated she re-released the album to comply to the EBU rules. Emma has risen to be a big Italian star, and she said herself she wants to remain 'big'. Or this could all be a misunderstanding.  |

That is the bonus song, so if Emma herself does intend a 2014 appearance it could potentially be this song.
Then again I don't think it'll happen. :/
