Wow, that's incorrect. In 2017, Portugal was FAR from being the forum favorite. There were debates about whether it could squeeze through to the final or not, and if we want that to happen. There were maybe 5 users that supported it. Conchita was very disliked by many, and the fan favorites were (maybe followed by ) 2015 was much more of a fave around the forums at the time. That was probably the only time a favorite won in the past 4 years, or at least the closest to it. It's not really incorrect though is it. 2017 was a pretty big favourite in the forums, especially in the week leading up to the contest. 2014 was also a massive favourite despite a few disgruntled users not liking it. Both were bigger favourites than 2015 lmao. In the favorites poll in 2014, Conchita came nowhere near the top 10 if I recall correctly. Got like 4 votes.

If yes then you can't know how the forum felt about Conchita in 2014 1. Because 2014 posts are not archived in any way at all whatsoever lmao 2. I've been around a little before you think as a guest

2017 was a pretty big favourite in the forums, especially in the week leading up to the contest. Oh yeah, I remember how it was slightly growing on everybody. However I think that's mainly happened as it became likely that Portugal might finally win. Because since at least autumn most of the people think that Beautiful mess was robbed. Both were bigger favourites than 2015 lmao. Which I remember to have been a favourite too. Not comparable to Grande Amore tho.

I thought that this had to be said somewhereTuesday morning, on the 3rd of April, 2018, Barbro Margareta Svensson, mostly known from her artist name "Lill-Babs", sadly passed away at the age of 80. Many of you will probably remember her as our fourth ever representative during the Eurovision Song Contest 1961, with her song "April, April", that unfortunately didn't reach far. But to us swedes, she was by far one of the most charming and fantastic singers that ever existed onto the country. She already started her career during 1953, and ever since then, she has grown to be one of Swedens most known singer, having had hits with a bunch of her songs, such as "Är du kär i mej ännu Klas-Göran?", "En tuff brud i lyxförpackning", "Leva livet", and "Gummiboll". Lill-Babs, as a artist name, originated from her manager, who did a little word play with the name, being originated from another star, Alice Babs (who also happened to be our first ever representative). Just in March, however, Barbro had problems with her heart, and was taken to a hospital, where they discovered that she had gotten cancer, which made her stay in the hospital for several weeks, before peacefully passing away on her hospital bed, surrounded by her family members. Every time I've seen her on TV, during either shows or interviews, she is never afraid to show off what she really is, and she has always had that charming personality with her, despite her old age. Reading about her passing that morning actually made me very damn sad, seeing how I already had to go through deaths like France Gall and Lys Assia earlier, but with all due respect, I can't ignore the fact that her existence has always brought joy to every single heart and soul to people of Sweden through out her 60 years as a singer. Thank you for all the joy you've spread, Barbro. May your soul forever rest in peace ♥
R.I.P. Barbro Svensson
(1938 - 2018)
Edit: felt like it was also necessary to share the amazing interval act of MF 2018, where Petra Marklund covered one of her hits during the second semi final.

You either look related to some of these people or are in a relationship with some of them.

A little late, but a few days back I found a note from May 21, 2015, "predicting" the results of ESC 2015. Since I wasn't such a big fan back then (as a result of Israel perpetually flopping and Norway not winning since 2009), I did not look at betting odds nor predictions and only heard the songs before the contest once. The note reads, roughly translated: "The second SF took place today. Israel is in!" ... "I think the biggest chance to win goes to Russia and Albania from SF1 and Sweden, Latvia or Portugal from SF2. Germany and Austria also have a chance." ... "My personal favorite, however, is Georgia."
Boy, was I wrong. Not only did this not age well, Portugal didn't even qualify and I only found out about that on the night of the grand final. Ah, good times.
