In the past few weeks I've come up with a brand new method of ranking the NVSC countries. In summary, each country is ranked by their recent performance in the contest.
The making of the ranking is quite complicated. I will try my best to explain it simply...
Method:
1. Take a country's average number of points gained throughout the 8th edition and multiply the value by 0.25
2. Repeat for a country's score in the 9th edition but multiply by 0.5 instead
3. Repeat for a country's score in the 10th edition but multiply by 0.75 instead
4. Repeat for a country's score in the 11th edition but keep the value the same
5. Add up all the values found in the first 4 steps
6. Round the value to the nearest integer (whole number)
The List:
Explanations & Examples:
Hopefully you can realise how this ranking differs from the others. Like I said before, this list shows a country's recent performance in the contest. For example, Greece, Turkey, Monaco and Croatia are higher on this list than the other lists because the four countries have performed very well in the past few editions. In contrast, Romania, Iceland and FYR Macedonia are relatively low because they have performed poorly in the past few editions. Non-participation also negatively effects a country's score. The bottom 7 countries in this ranking were all inactive for at least one of the past four editions.
