Just something I was curious about. What rules/systems do you think should be abolished/re-instated/changed. You can vote for as many as you like
Note - the options aren't necessarily things that I want

The native language option Although I think more than likely we'll continue in English.

The native language option Although I think more than likely we'll continue in English. Not when we enter Junior Eurovision (since TG4 is organizing it)

The live orchestra should return. I think all points should be said as well but oh well that would make the show really long. I think the Big 5 should be removed as well... I mean in several years Big 5 countries were around the bottom 5 places and I think this would feel more as a shame being towards them then an opportunity. I think the age limit should be also removed but then the Junior Eurovision Song Contest might get less interest... I voted for re-introducing the live orchestra and removing the Big 5.

If I was to add a new rule, I'd replace and with and . These scores tend to be used for bloc-voting anyway

I voted for the National Language rule, Relegation, Live Orchestra, Big Five and Other. I sincerely hope countries have to sing in their own language again. There is a concerning growth in internationalism across Europe, and wonderful songs like Balkan ballads and Folk pop have been droned out nowadays by trance songs and joke entries, all of which are from national languages to English. Bringing back the rule will hopefully quash the need for joke entries as they'll sound.... questionable. Plus, national languages are much more fun than English. It's nice to have a challenge deciphering the language, and it's nice to hear wonderful surreal words. Relegation is really important to me, not because of the overflow of countries coming in and out now, but because of the deteriorating choices countries are making. I'm not saying "SEND A MASSIVE SUPERSTAR WITH A CHART HIT AND WIN", but we shouldn't be stuck in a delusive period of the equivalent of musical injustice. Examples? Moldova this year. Portugal in 2011. Austria in 2012. Israel in 2000. All entries like that. Music is becoming more electronic these days and some entries can't even use an orchestra on those terms, so it should be obligatory for those that can use to orchestra to use it. The Big 5's music taste was really good this year, but that's no excuse for an autoqualification. The only people that should be autoqualified are the Host country and special guest countries like Australia. And I'm probably the only person that wants the minimum lyrics rule removed. A song doesn't need to have vocals in it to be exceptional!
