So before beginning to write this, I would like to thank everyone participating in this game for a great experience. Also thank you a lot, Bronson, for organizing this. I really hope there will be a second season of this, in which players get a chance, who could not participate this time. Also sorry in advance for any mistakes with the English language in the rest of this post.
Coming in this game I feel like I probably already had a disadvantage, which most, if not all others had not. I had not talked many words, if not any, with most other participants before this game due to being rather not so active in this forum community. This put a massive disadvantage on me, because I did not really know, who was close with whom. Furthermore I also missed the first day, because - don’t laugh - I couldn’t find the tribe chat. This put me immediately in a terrible position, with not me, but my only ally on this tribe being voted out and Osh being terrible at challenges. However I did not give up and found a way for Osh to win the next challenge, basically saving myself alone.
And there in my opinion starts the first big argument, why I should win this game, and this is my very strong performance in challenges. I gave always my best in tribal challenges, causing me to go only once to tribal, the very first tribal council. However, when my challenge domination really started, was the merge. I won 5 of 8 possible individual immunities. Plus one, in which I strategically helped Llemian to win, because it was the last tribal I could play my immunity idol in. This would have worked, if he had not got confused by time zones. This is the only challenge I lost, starting with the third merge immunity challenge. And mostly my wins were not by luck, I won them by pure willpower, fighting and not giving up. My wins were sometimes pretty clear, showing how much effort I put in these challenges. To some, it might seem ridiculous, how much effort I put in an online forum game, but I wanted to do everything possible to win this, especially after I reached the merge, because I am a pretty big Survivor fan and as I will never be able to play it in reality, I wanted to at least win this forum game.
Additionally I did what only 2 people besides me (Marco and Blandine) could do: Find an immunity idol and play it correctly. While the other two found their idols pre-merge, I found the merge tribe idol. Who needs a break or is curious, which song, was the merge tribe immunity idol: www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCR0VyVtHTs. Finding the idol however contained a lot of planning for me. Instead of other players, who claimed to not even know, how many points they have in the Survivor Shop, I always knew. From buying the point doubler before the merge, getting the 1000 points at the first merge challenge for myself to getting points at the immunity challenges: I was always trying to find an immunity idol, which I succeeded in.
Also I was part in the biggest twist of this season: Exile Island. While it may seem unfair to some that I and Marco were safe for four tribal councils, none of us ever asked for this. We will never find out, what would have happened, if Max sent in his list. Maybe Max would have won this game unanimously, but there is a good possibility that I would be still sitting here tonight. Despite the clear advantage of being safe, we were not able to build relationships with the other players in the game. However I used the time the best I could: Getting closer with Marco.
After my time on exile, we merged and this was the time the game really started for me, considering I was only on one tribal council before the merge, due to winning several tribal immunities. At this point only 3 people - Marco, Mihai and Llemian - with whom I have been on the same tribe before, were still in the game. While apart from me the whole Osh tribe was eliminated before the merge, Callum and Matt left at the double tribal council before the merge. Due to a bond I formed with Mihai, I got invited in an alliance of 6 with Alex, who is sitting with me here tonight, and, Blandine, Julian, Maxim and Mihai, who I played a big role in the eliminations of all of them. However it took me not long to realize that I am probably sixth in this alliance, because I had not talked with anyone but Mihai in this alliance before and they did not really make attempts to talk to me personally. So I also tried to keep/build relationships with members of the minority - most notably Marco, Llemian and Jack.
Later, thanks to Mihai, I got warned that I would be in immediate danger of being voted off, which I ultimately was not due to my first individual immunity win. However the opportunity to shake the majority alliance up, which I waited for, arose. Maxim came to me with a plan that Marco should use his immunity idol on me to idol out Julian, who in my opinion was at this point the biggest threat in this game. He did not want to take responsibility for that move. However that was not in my interest at all and it’s also completely wrong from Alex to say I was only lucky and had no persuasion to do to get rid of Julian. I did put much effort in persuading Maxim to vote for Julian and to not rely on an idol play and I succeeded, this vote went how I wanted. Marco did not need to play his idol on himself and this idol ended the game of another big threat, Blandine. And at this vote I also got Llemian and Maxim to vote together, who did not seem to get along very well.
Before the next vote I had a little hope that I maybe could work with Maxim and/or Mihai to maybe get rid of Alex or Blandine. But lies were told and I discovered that Maxim was very, very close to Blandine in this game and Mihai told me he was, too. Because of that I couldn’t continue to work together with them and I wanted to get rid of Blandine, because she seemed to be in a pretty good position and was the biggest jury threat. So I told Llemian and Marco to vote for her and I also told Marco to play his idol on himself, ultimately sending Blandine, arguably one of the best players in this game, home.
After that I sadly lost Marco at the next vote due to Mihai`s advantage and Llemian due to a twist at the final 4. However I could get another 2 players of the other side - Maxim & Mihai - out. Mihai fell victim to my idol, which apparently was a successful blindside considering the other alliance did not use Alex' advantage to split their votes. At the final 3 finally Maxim, who played a very strong game in my opinion, fell victim to not being able to beat me in any endurance challenge.
Also, all in all, I never received a vote against me that counted.
Despite some lows in this game, I always fought and never gave up. I dominated in challenges and won more of them than anyone else on this season. I also have grown a lot in this game and developed my way of playing this game from the beginning of the game. And I impacted the course of this game at the merge more than anyone else. This is why I think I deserve to win this game and the title of Sole Survivor.
