A) Tell me why you deserve my vote, tell me everything that you have been doing since day 1. Everything, Strategic, Social and PhysicalThen lets start with the
physical game. Thats the most obvious one. As a member of the jury, you could see my challenge scores, especially at the merge, they were pretty impressive in my opinion. I also played strategically in challenges, when I thought it benefited my game, like the final 5 immunity, where I tried to help Llemian win.
Even when I sat out of a challenge pre-merge (the song guessing one), I did mainly do it so that my tribe started as fast as possible, because time was important in that one. When I was in a pretty bad position after the first tribal council, in which my closest alliance member Santeri was voted off, I wanted to do everything possible to win the challenge (Sprinter) and tried everything and found a way, which I shared with Lefteris, who then shared it with Max, who probably ignored it, but anyway this made my tribe win.
Selreyes, you claimed Alex played great physical, but when you compare his scores with mine, it doesn’t look so great. He has excuses. but at the end of the day, I have to sleep, too, and have problems and stuff to do, too, and even if it was pretty difficult, I never gave up and always fought. This dedication and what winning would mean to me, is a reason you should vote for me tonight.
I will do the
social and
strategical game together, because they are easier to tell together.
I am not going to lie I started this game pretty slow, even not being able to find the tribe chat. I was happy, when I found someone in Santeri, who I could trust. Our target in the beginning was Max, but we swapped fast to Lefteris, because I/we realized, what a strategical player he was, after he told me and Santeri that his target was the other one. Santeri talked to Ashley about our plan and he thought that she would for sure vote with us, but I was not so sure about that. Ultimately Santeri was voted by the other 3.
Most of us were I guess expecting a tribal swap after the second vote, so like I already told I gave everything I could to win that challenge. On my new tribe, Gmunden, I was with Matt, Mihai, Callum, Marco and Llemian. At this point I got into an alliance with Matt, Mihai and Callum, which seems to have been a mistake, as Matt seems to have not been honest to me, but we won all challenges and never went to tribal council. During this game I talked a lot to Mihai, who I built relations in the game, which helped me later. I also talked a lot to Matt and to a lesser extent Marco and Llemian, who seemed to be on the other side of the tribe, because they seemed like good people, which I may need at a later point.
Then I went to exile, where I was alone with Marco, so I had not much possibilities, what I could do, but I used this time to intensify my relationship to Marco, where I gained some information about Gmunden, but most importantly Marco told me that he had actually found an hidden immunity idol, which would have important influence on the game later on.
I admit, that my game pre-merge was not the greatest strategically, mainly because I did not really know most people and it was kind of difficult for me to assess people at the beginning, but I was good physically and socially, which built a solid foundation, I think, I am the person, who developed their game the most positively, and that’s also a reason, why you should vote for me tonight.
At the merge only one former ally of myself remained - Mihai. He invited me soon to the alliance of 6 with Alex, Blandine, Julian, Maxim and himself, of course. I was happy that I was in a majority alliance, but I couldn’t trust them completely, because I only was on a tribe with Mihai before and did not know the other 3. So I never felt really comfortable in this alliance, mainly because nobody of the alliance except Mihai made really any effort that I would feel included or an important member of that group. Especially, Alex and Julian more or less ignored me and made it pretty obvious that I would not go farther than 6th place with them.
In the first merge challenge I really made an effort to get those 1000 points, without actually making it too obvious. I came up with a plan to strategically use our challenge points to get the most out for us - with Mihai, the only person I really trusted, getting the double vote and me getting the 1000 points. When somebody said that Blandine should instead get the points, I told them that she is not here now and we might have to send it in quick, which worked. They later never really expected that I have an idol apparently - otherwise it would have been an even stupider move to not split their votes at the final 5.
Already at the first merge vote, I did not really agree with their plans. Instead of Alex and Julian openly showing, which side they are on, they continued to do a hiding game without a real benefit. In the process they wasted Mihai`s first double vote and they would have even caused a tie, if Christian had voted. And more importantly: If they flip on Selvin, Christian and Jack, why shouldn’t they flip on me? Have we any relationship preventing this? No. So I knew that I sooner or later had to get either Julian or Alex out.
Christian then quit, which speeded up the game a bit. Luckily, there were some people that I still continued to talk, too. With Jack I had an agreement to work secretly together, which he made to me. At first I was not sure, if I should use this, but at that point it seemed not good for my game to get him out. Also I had this exile island connection with Marco. I tried to make a plan to idol Julian out with Marcos idol - an idea that Maxim would bring to me again one vote later. However it did not work, because - rightfully - Marco thought it was not a good idea for him to play his idol yet and also because the alliance ultimately decided to split their votes, after Marco made somehow everyone believe that he did not have an idol. I tried to help Jack as best as I could after that, but ultimately I didn’t want to ruin my game and therefore he got voted out. It was not the right time yet.
At the next vote Mihai told me that I would be in danger, so I fought my ass off for the immunity with success. And I tried to get closer to Blandine to somehow get a better spot in the alliance, at least with a little success, as she believed me that she could trust me, which she could have, if she did not tell things back to Maxim, revealing that I could not trust her and that she was very close to Maxim. And, before the immunity (which I based on the hosts reaction on my score, I knew I would win), Maxim came to me with a plan - to idol out Julian. However this plan was not actually in my best interest, if Maxim wants Julian out, too, he can just vote him out and I persuaded him to do this. I basically organized this vote off, telling Marco and Llemian how to vote and save themselves. Also, after Alex did not want to split the votes of the main alliance to avoid a tie, I came up with the plan to split the votes 4-2, causing Julian to be voted out in a 4-3-1 vote.
After the next vote I realized more how conniving Blandine was in reality and it got even more obvious that she was very close to Maxim. Maxim told me that we would vote Alex, but he did it in a way that made me not really believe him and Mihai confirmed that he would vote for Marco. Later Blandine told me that she would vote Llemian, making it obvious that they would vote for Marco. I tried to get Mihai on my side to vote Blandine out, which seemed like an unlikely chance considering how close he is to Blandine, but her lies made him seem like a liar, so I tried my best. Though when it got obvious that he would turn on me, I decided that it was time to play his idol and this is what got Blandine out.
After that, it was 3 vs. 3. I tried to get a majority, again giving Mihai the chance to work with me, but he refused again. And somehow my alliance unfortunately didn’t get advantages like the other side, so Marco had left the game. I potentially could have played my idol on him, because I found it shortly, before he was voted out, but I decided against it, because I needed it for myself and the game was ways too unpredictable with potential advantages in the game. I feel like after Marco was voted out, I got a lot closer to Llemian. At the next vote I tried to convince Alex how big of a threat Maxim is, which was ultimately worthless, because Maxim won immunity. This was the first time I actually talked game with Alex personally. Ultimately I decided to send Mihai home, because I thought he would now be 100% loyal to Maxim and not vote against him. Luckily Mihai left and not Llemian, because Alex misplayed his advantage and didn’t split the votes and I played my idol correctly on myself.
Although, I tried to save Llemian I couldn’t, mainly because of the twist at the final 4. At the final 3 I took Maxim out, because I thought it would be hard to beat him and Alex would be at least a little easier to beat.
I deserve to win, because I dominated physically, I developed my game a lot, I changed the game forever by getting rid of most notably Julian and Blandine, but also later Mihai and Maxim, including various strategic moves, I did not have a worse social game with Alex, maybe even the opposite and most importantly I put so much dedication and fight in my game, I never gave up during hard times and even, if I may lose this game now, because I did not articulate myself well enough in the final tribal, I hope people can see past this and award everything I put in this game - time, fight and without sounding cheesy a bit of my heart, too.
This might be not everything, I may have left something minor I didn’t remember out. This is the truth and if you claim that I lied during my speeches tell me about what, because I don’t know, where I supposedly lied.
B) Why Alex doesn't deserve to win?As this is a similar question Jack already asked me, I will keep this a bit shorter.
I don’t think you can describe Alex’ physical game as great, especially not compared as mine.
Also his social game, which got praised a lot, is not as good as everyone thinks. He did not talk at all with Marco and Llemian and you can not excuse that completely with time issues. Writing some messages doesn’t cost much time. He also did not spend any time writing to me before the final 6, which shouldn’t make him surprised that I turned on his closest allys. He also lost contact to Mihai after the Blandine was voted out. This makes 4/5 of the other member of the final 6. Only keeping great relationships with his closest alliance members, not even his whole alliance, is in no way an outstanding social game. It is a rather weak one.
Strategically, Alex played the pre-merge and the merge between alliance, but I feel like he never really wanted to be in this situation and got rather lucky. He never really made a big move, while we were together at the merge. I cant judge, what he did, while we were not on the same tribe, but at least to me voting out Callum does not sound like that big of a move, at the end of the day he had to vote out someone. It is nothing necessarily wrong with playing the game more quiet, but I feel like it would have not led to anything in Alex’ case, if I had not get out his closest allies, in my opinion he would have lost to one of them at final tribal. Furthermore he had misplayed his advantage, which got Mihai voted out.
I don’t think Alex deserves to win, because in my opinion I have played better physically, strategically and socially and also put more effort into this game.
1. - Compare you and the jury as a real survivor player.I do not like to compare people, because we are individuals.
Myself: It is difficult, but I say Sarah Lacina, because she did make great moves strategically, had a lot of dedication to win (for her family), was a bit more quiet before the merge, but did everything to win, shocking some people, who underestimated her. Maybe a little bit Jenna Morasca is in me, too.
I hope this was the way the question was meant. Please don’t be offended by any of my choices some were difficult and I don’t really like to compare people.
Maxim: Kathy Vavrick-O'Brien
Llemian: Rodger Bingham
Mihai: Natalie White
Marco: Tony Vlachos
Blandine: RC Saint-Amour
Julian: Christy Smith
Jack: JT Thomas (but during Tocantins)
Selvin: Purple Kelly (you were gone so fast from my point of view)
Matt: Rob Cesternino
2. - Who was the worst player in this seasons Survivor and why?Max - I agree with the answer of Alex tbh.
3. - Who was the best player and why? And don't say yourself!Maxim - He won many challenges and played very smart. He made a great move in getting Julian out, which would have nearly brought him to the end, if he could have beaten me, and I feel like he had always some control on the game.
Though Blandine and Marco are close imo.
