As said before and I'm going to reiterate it.
It ain't exactly like a massive shock that Netta won ESC 2018. She was the forerunner favourite weeks ahead of the actual contest and in front of other singers, until Cyprus came in to the picture in rehearsals week - that's why some people* are sour grapes - because they think Foureira has been there for a long time.
* = referring to people who aren't avid / big followers of Eurovision, not anyone on here.

Why can't you hold me in the street? Why can't I kiss you on the dance floor?

You guys are all forgetting something. Israel sees hosting Eurovision as a tourism opportunity. We don't have an airport in Jerusalem and the Israeli ministry of tourism doesn't care much about Jerusalem's development (specifically with the controversy that surrounds it nowadays). That leaves us with the airport cities, Tel Aviv, Eilat, Rosh Pina and Haifa. Now, Eilat has no sea nor a stadium to host the contest, which rules them off as both a tourist spot and a host city for 2019. Rosh Pina is landlocked, has no tourist attractions, their stadium is tiny and there isn't even room to place the whole red carpet within the town borders, so I don't think so. Don't forget the national stadium is in Haifa and that the ministry of tourism really really wants Haifa to be more visited by tourists. On the other hand, there's PM Netanyahu that would lose all common sense and still want to host it in Jerusalem regardless on account of it being "the eternal capital of Israel" and "the worldwide city of peace" and bullshit like that. They can no longer host it in the Concert Hall (1979, 1999) for obvious reason, do they'll have to resprt to hosting it in Teddy Stadium (which would require a shit ton of renovations and seems unlikely and too expensive) I would consider Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa as equal competitors for hosting the contest. Or Israel pulls a 1993 and hosts it in the Israeli version of Millstreet, Rosh Pina. (pop. 3500)

Note: If the contest is to take place in Jerusalem, the jury final can't take place on Friday evening (because Sabbath is holy to 80% of the population). Currently, as Tel Aviv is not interested in hosting, Haifa seems like the best option.

Sorry, but I'll probably never understand this reason. I explained why in the same post, I prefer diversity. Yeah you had. But I'm actually generally talking.

Sabbath is holy to 80% of the population). Is it still like that nowadays? Talking about West Jerusalem, obviously. For the most part, people in Israeli administration Jerusalem don't drive, buy, sell, use electricity or shower between Friday evening and Saturday night.
