★ RULESBOOK ★
★ 1. GENERAL RULES ★
1.1. | The contest is limited to 32 participating countries per edition. |
1.2. | There will be four semi-finals, four battles in the second chance round and a grand final. |
1.3. | In each semi-final, there will be 8 songs. Unlike Melodifestivalen, there will be one single round per semi-final, not two. The top 2 from each will directly qualify to the grand final. The third and fourth places will qualify to the second chance and the rest of the entries will be eliminated. |
1.4. | In the second chance, there will be four battles consisting of two songs each. The winner of each duel will qualify to the grand final. |
★ 2. VOTING METHOD ★
2.1. | In the semi-finals, only participants will be able to vote in the one they're participating in. The voting format is a positional voting system and it's the same used with the juries at Melodifestivalen from 2010 to 2017: each of the participants will award 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 points to their top 7 entries. |
2.2. | In the second chance, a poll per battle will be opened in which you'll be allowed to vote for your favorite song from each one. Every participant of the edition must vote in every single duel. |
2.3. | In the grand final, the voting will be 50% juries and 50% televoting. The 12 finalists will be the juries and the rest of the participants will form the televoting. The voting format for both the juries and the televoting, which is a positional voting system too, is the same used with the juries at Melodifestivalen 2018. Each participant will award 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10 and 12 points to their top 10 entries. Since there will be more votes in the televoting than in the jury, the total score of the televoting will be adjusted to the one of the juries so that they're proportional (50-50). |
★ 3. PARTICIPATION ★
3.1. | Instead of just songs, the players will participate with non-permanent countries, which means that all countries will be up for grabs based on the first-come/first-serve system. |
3.2. | All the countries in the world are available, including autonomous countries. Some of these autonomous countries have already participated, such as Kosovo and Taiwan in the first edition and Hong Kong in the second one. If you're unsure on whether your country is eligible to participate or not make sure to contact the council. |
3.3. | (Junior) Eurovision songs are strictly forbidden, including songs which participated in a national selection of any of them. |
3.4. | As it was pointed out before, there will be a total of 32 participants. Because of this, the confirmation process will be divided into two: day 1 and day 2. On day 1, only the finalists of the previous edition and the council will be able to confirm their participation. On day 2, everyone else will be able to confirm. |
3.5. | To participate, you need a minimum of 100 posts in the forums. |
3.6. | Changing your country after you've confirmed it is forbidden. |
3.7. | Users can't select the same country for two consecutive editions, except for the winner if wished. |
3.8. | The winner will join the council for the following edition. |
3.9. | The winner will also be able to select their country before anyone else (including the council). |
★ 4. METHODS OF SELECTION AND BORROWING RULES ★
4.1. | For now, the entries can only be chosen via internal selection. If national selections are requested in the future they will be considered. |
4.2. | Borrowing is not allowed. The so-called "borrowing nations" can only send native singers. |
4.3. | For a singer to represent a country, they or at least one of their parents need to have been born there or are currently living in that country. Singers who have been living there for a considerable amount of time in the past are also valid. This also applies to groups/bands members. |
★ 5. BLACKLIST AND STRIKES SYSTEM ★
5.1. | To avoid people not voting and breaking the rules, a blacklist will be made. This blacklist will consist of percentages: for each broken rule, each user will receive a percentage. |
5.2. | If a 50% is received, the player will be banned for one edition. If a 100% is received, the player will be banned for three editions. |
5.3. | If a user receives a 100% and breaks the rules once more, they will get permanently banned. |
Strikes system:
STRIKE | ACTION |
0% - 20% | - Failing to vote in any of the rounds with a valid excuse. The percentage will depend on the validity of the excuse. |
25% | - Failing to send an entry on time without a valid excuse. - Failing to vote in any of the rounds without a valid excuse. |
75% | - Cheating in the contest. |
