Pohjoisviisut is a new national selection to select a
Finnish representative for the 28th edition of North Vision Song Contest.The format goes like this:
SEMI-FINAL 1&2
8 songs from both semi-finals will compete for the places in the grand final. Three will qualify from the semi-final: The winner of the jury voting, the winner of the televoting and the overall score winner from the remaining songs gets a place to the Grand Final.
Should both jury and televoting have a same winner, it will be decided by who gave more points (e.g. if jury gave more points than televoting, the song will qualify as a jury winner, while the 2nd best in the televoting will qualify as a televoting winner)
Both jury and televoting will vote by rating every song from 4 to 10.
WILD CARD ROUND
Songs that did not qualify from the semi-finals (10 in total) will get a second chance in the wild card round. After the Semi-final 2 results, a poll will be opened for 48 hours. Everyone can vote up to two songs. The two best in the poll will qualify to the final. Should there be a tie, the one who got better overall score in the semi-final will qualify. The qualifier(s) will be selected by a draw should there be a tie also in the overall scores.
GRAND FINAL
8 songs that qualified either from the semi-finals or from the wild card round will compete for the victory. The winner will be selected by the overall score from the jury and televoting results (50/50).
Both jury and televote will vote by rating every song from 4 to 10.
You can apply to be one of the jury members if you are a (co-)HoD of a competing country. Jury members have to vote in the semi-final 1 and semi-final 2! Jury members do not have to vote in the final unless they want to change their points given in the semi-final(s) (But it is good to inform me during the Grand Final so I'm aware of it).
