AUSTRALIA CONFIRMS Australia confirms for the upcoming edition to be held in Taiwan. After 2 consecutive AQ and a respectable 11th place in the previous edition (should been higher tho) the nation will keep participating, hoping to finally break their best result from 6th edition someday.
Australian Voice will make a return. The selection turned to be successful, so it was decided to bring it back in order to select the next entry. However the format will change a bit, and instead of selecting a song for one artist, multiple artists will take part. We'll keep contacting artists that have never represented the nation before for as long as possible. The line-up, the voting method will be revealed in due time.

Tajikistan confirms! After an incredible 3rd place achieved by Firuza Hafizova with her song Ruz nadidam in South Korea, Tajikistan will of course be participating in the 25th edition of the Own Asiavision Song Contest!
The country came extremely close to getting their first ever victory last edition, after Firuza Hafizova just missed out on the top spot by 6 points. This sparked new interest in the contest from local fans, and the head of delegation has also stated that the team will work even harder to one day bring the contest to Dushanbe.
Although an internal selection was initially going to be used to select the next Tajik entry, the head of delegation has now hinted at a national selection being held, with 3-4 songs, due to the fact that Tajikistan is automatically qualified to the final. He simply stated that:
We brought a whopper last edition... we came to serve Asia our ethnic bops, and we are going to continue doing just that. And since we're undecided, we may give Asia the chance to choose our entrant.
Stay tuned for more news!

Myanmar confirms! with a little bit of change
Nay Pyi Taw, 5 January 2021 - Myanmar returns to the Own Asiavision Song Contest after the country had withdrawn for 2 contiguously editions in the 23rd edition with the new and current Head of Delegation. After the returning the country got a successful 9th and 14th place in the final respectively, therefore there is no doubt about our participation.
After the successful returning by Rose Quartz in Uzbekistan, the number of interested artists has grown over and over, which led us to hosted national selection, Voices of Myanmar, for the first time to select our entry for the 24th edition. The winner of the inaugural edition of VoM was Past12, Mrna and Youn Ni Ko, who brought us the first-ever semi-final's victory in South Korea, the number of application to compete has grown higher and higher, therefore instead of having 5 songs compete against each other, starting from this edition, 7 songs will participate in the national selection!
More information will be announced soon with the opening of Voices of Myanmar 2.

NEW CALEDONIA ANNOUNCES PARTICIPATION AND SONG!Nouméa, 5 Janvier - Following the unprecidented results of the twenty-fourth edition, in which the island nation unprecidently qualified for the first time, only escaping the purgatory of non-qualification by 2 points over massive favourites Sheppard. Of course with this, the nation was fixed on the television, anxiously awaiting the results of the final. When the dust settled, Éternel finished in fifth, just barely missing out on fourth curtosey of loosing the tie with Thailand, netting the nation our first ever automatic qualification. With this opportunity to show off Caledonian culture in a new light, Miho St. Andre, as the head of delegation, confirmed the Caledonian participation in the twenty-fifth edition of Own Asiavision Song Contest which will be held in Taiwan.
An artist has been selected to wave the flag of New Caledonia in Taiwan, and we are ready to introduce them to everyone.
Tim Sameke
Born in Lifou Island in the Loyalty Islands of New Caledonia in 1964, Tim Sameke is a singer, composer, dancer, and radio host tied to the Kaneka dance group We Ce Ca. No stranger to the Own Asiavision Song Contest, he attempted to represent the nation in the twenty-second edition, but finished secondbehind Linda Terii and her song Tamahine o te moana, with the song Pilou Cagou, which has become quite loved by the nations in which Musique de Nouvelle-Calédonie à Séoul was broadcasted. He was one of the 5 jury members which broke the tie in the national final last edition, giving his vote to Éternel. He has been tapped to fly the Caledonian flag as an automatic qualifier, showing off Kanaky culture to the world.
He will set a pair of records in Taiwan. Firstly, he will become the oldest singer to represent a nation by themselves, at the ripe old age of 56. Additionally, he will perform the oldest song ever in the Own Asiavision Song Contest, with his song being released on January 1st, 2010, just barely making the cut for being an entry, setting a record that won't ever be beaten.
And here is the song that will represent the nation of New Caledonia in Taiwan

0:54+ ~ NEW CALEDONIA IN OWN ASIAVISION SONG CONTEST ~
The Special Collectivity of New Caledonia debuted in the twenty-first edition of the Own Asiavision Song Contest held in Sana'a with Caledonian Marcus Gad and Tamal, finishing last in the semifinal with 34 points. In the edition following, the broadcaster held the first ever edition of Musique de Nouvelle-Calédonie à, which was won by Linda Terii with Tamahine O Te Moana. Linda finished 14th in the semifinal with 54 points. A second edition of Musique de Nouvelle-Calédonie à was held for the 23rd edition. The national final was won by Patricia Ségui and her song Le Voleur. Patricia brought the island nation so close to the final, finishing 11th in the semi with 54 points, missing out on the final by a single point. The final was finally achieved by Mickaël Pouvin in Daegu the next edition, where he stunned the nation by going from the last nation to make the final, only finishing ahead of Sheppard and their song Die Young by 2 points, to an automatic qualifier, finishing 5th, ensuring Tim Sameke's performance in the final in the 25th edition
