After less than stellar result in Dawson City, Russia sends this song to France (thanks to ayzelto for suggesting it): Varvara"Letala, da pela" Translation: "I flew and sang"
Timecode: 1:36+
I noticed that this is the first Russian RWWWSC which was in the national selection for Eurovision - in 2005 she placed 4th)Photo:

Let me give you a very simple song. It's probably not very contest friendly, but this is a tribute entry that I give you with 0 expectations. Also, sorry if this post is a bit messy, lol.
Mani Matter - I han es Zündhölzli azündt ( Translation: I lit a match) Timeslot: 0:45+
Have you ever wondered who's the most famous singer from Switzerland (within the country) of all time is? Probably not, but here's your answer anyway. Fun fact it's the #1 artist I always refused myself to go with.
Mani Matter was a songsmith of the late 60s and early 70s. He's died on 24th November 1972 and was only 36 years old in a car crash on a highway. I wasn't aware of the date, but if I were, this would've been my entry last edition. :/
Idk what Mani Matter's reception back then was, but he had (and still has) a huge influence on our music industry and is also a reason why many Swiss artists are singing in dialect. Something very unpopular back then.
The singer's songs were very simple and humorous. He always told stories from everyday life - which are normally very relatable even 50 years later. That's probably also why we still love him so much to this day. His songs are being sung in kindergarten, with the scouts (?) and even in the football stadium. There are also numerous covers by famous artists.
In the song I'm using here, he thinks about how a small mistake - he accidentally drops a match on the carpet - could have a huge effect. I'm not going to give you a translation of the lyrics, but in the song, we're all dead in the end.
Hope you will like this little song.

SLOVENIAN ENTRY You might remember him, but probably not as he's a "Mr. Nobody". He participated in Bitka Talentov, a singing talent show on national TV. He placed second in the first season. Others who took part there were Omar Naber (winner of season 1) and Nina Pušlar (winner of season 2). The show only had 2 seasons. The show released a Christmas album with the finalists of both seasons. I had already planned the song ahead, so the fact that the title is French is hilarious The song is from 2005: Anžej Dežan - C'est la vie

LATVIA It's Christmas time. Most of us will have the same kind of Christmas we have every year - love, joy and all other positive emotions will be plentiful with lots of sweets, songs and decorated Christmas trees everywhere. But somewhere Christmas will be different than usual - a lot colder, darker and filled with love and hate at the same time. I'm obviously talking about Ukraine. I know I've already used a few entries closely themed with Ukraine this year (some of you are probably already tired of them), but I just couldn't say no to this song at this time of the year, because I think it resonates very well with the situation Ukraine will experience this Christmas. And the music video was filmed in Kiev, which just adds to it. Anyway, I absolutely love this song, so I hope you'll enjoy this song despite it not being super positive and uplifting. Prāta Vētra - "Colder" (2003) (~2:31,5 (basically where the chorus starts))

FRANCE Every edition the results of this contest are surprising, for once last edition was a good one, thank you for that Christmas gift a bit in advance!
As you know, we are encouraged to send Christmas-related songs this edition and as the host, I tried to find a city and a song with a connection together and with a connection with Christmas as well.
The following song is not strictly related to Christmas or Santa Claus (it is about a chimney sweeper who falls in love and wants to marry a girl) but since the girl is called Etoile des Neiges (Snow Star), this connection made the song be associated with Christmas in France. Several versions have been recorded, I chose the one by Line Renaud in 1950.Line Renaud - Etoile des NeigesTimeslot: 1:28(For the picture you can use the one from the video)
