I was reading the Photo Collection thread and about 3 pages about Maths popped up, so Ive decided to make this thread. Here's a maths Question! Also how are you doing in Maths? I hate to brag but im a A in it and my class do the Year 11 higher assessments. Quite easy...You just have to use the fact that she has 90 items. 35 of them are plates so the plates are 7/18 of her items. This fraction, multiplied by 360 (the degrees of a full circle) give us 140 degrees which is also the answer...Then 30/90 items are cups & saucers so 1/3 of all items..360*1/3 = 120 degrees...Then you can just use the fact she's got 90 items in order to find the frequency of Milk Jugs by subtracting the other frequencies from 90...And the same procedure can be followed in order to fin the angle of sugar bowls (subtract all the other angles from 360)... I love Maths btw I've finished my A Levels on Mathematics, Further mathematics and Statistics with an A* and I'm going to study Mathematics after graduating from high school... I've also taken part in a Maths contest and came 10th from the whole country so now I'm going to attend some special lectures and compete again in order to make it to the National Maths team that will represent Cyprus in international contests

Finally solved this stupid question *phew* Steps: 1. Pretend theres a line connecting points O and B 2. Lines OB and OC are both the radius of the circle and are thus the same length. 3. Since angle OCB is 50˚, then the triangle must be isosceles, therefore angle OBC is also 50˚. 4. Since the angles of a triangle must add to 180˚, and both angles OCB and OBC are 50˚, then angle BOC must be 80˚. 5. Using similar logic, lines OA and OB are both the radius and are thus the same length, meaning triangle AOB must be isosceles too. 6. Angle OAB is 20˚, then angle OBA must also be 20˚. 7. Knowing that angle OBC is 50˚, and angle OBA is 20˚, then angle x˚ must be 50–20 which is 30˚. 8. Since triangle AOB is isosceles and angles OAB and OBA are 20˚, then angle AOB must be 140˚, because 140+20+20=180. 9. Knowing angle AOB is 140˚ and angle BOC is 80˚, then angle y˚ must be 140–80 which is 60˚. Therefore: x˚=30˚ y˚=60˚ Would that be how you'd solve it, mimisthesc?

I'm too bad with numbers.

Yeah, although I'd skip anything after finding x or y...It's a fact that y=2x Both angles are opposite the same chord (AC) and one of them is on the circle whilst the other one lies on the circumference
