Ireland shall once again be using Made in Ireland to select their entry, with a modified selection system.

How the eight mentors are split:
The Celtic Mentor: This mentor will be able to pick any song in any of the celtic languages
The Foreign mentor: Will be able to pick a song for one of the three foreign acts given to them.

The rest of the mentors: There will be a list of 15 acts which mentors will go in turn to pick their act from - the order of this shall be chosen randomly. If one wants to become one of the mentors, one can apply to be later randomly decided if they shall or shall not be a mentor (with the exception of  Dimitris who will get one of the 5 places automatically due to having sent the winning song last edition).

Back up Mentor: RTE will select songs for three of the best acts that were not chosen, who will then be voted for in an online poll; the song with the most points gets into the final.

Applications close on the 27th of March

The HRT group is impressed with the selection and is interested in promoting the Celtic languages.

The entry here, however, will be in Irish.
