Researching music from countries with bigger industries is harder than researching music for smaller nations I think it is hard for me to find songs from the UK because there are so many famous artists and famous songs many of which are also quite old and it’s hard to find unknown songs and artists I agree with that

I agree and disagree to an extent. I think Spotify's New Music Friday playlists definitely help a lot in sourcing the unknown artists and songs in bigger countries, but for some reason the playlist for the US region seems to underrepresent the unknown artists/songs considerably. You have to rely sometimes on YouTube recommendation or the rare few not-so-popular US artists you know already (or from other playlists like Fresh Finds). UK on the other hand is a lot more well represented from my experience.
Then, you have the smaller regions who don't even have one single big chart showcasing the local songs. For example, the region I am from (Hong Kong) has 5 stations that make local charts and none of them is considered the "official" local chart for the region.

My point is that when you search for the latest songs from the UK it’s always showing the most known artists that are known globally, so it’s quite difficult to find new songs that aren’t overused and unoriginal. My knowledge of Hong Kong’s music industry is very limited so feel free to correct me but I don’t think there are artists that have the same level of global recognition

True, official charts in bigger countries often use the stream/airplay data so the new songs won't show up unless they have enough of those. Luckily, the company responsible for making official charts has a nice little page to show all the new releases (mostly in the UK) every week (in addition to what I mentioned above wrt Spotify's New Music Friday UK playlist): www.officialcharts.com/new-releases/My knowledge of Hong Kong’s music industry is very limited so feel free to correct me but I don’t think there are artists that have the same level of global recognition I agree on that too. I don't think there are a lot of artists who received international fame but I do see MIRROR might be an international hit. I hate to say this but some of them have to get their way into the Chinese pop music industry to become internationally more famous like G.E.M.
