#16: Azerbaijan's Selection Method [Poll]

Following the announcement of Azerbaijan's return to the North Vision Song Contest,
the Azerbaijani national broadcaster AzTV is now asking members of the public to have their
say on the selection process for the upcoming edition of the competition.
Following Azerbaijan's mixed results during the North Vision Song Contest, AzTV is interested
to know the preferred selection process for the North Vision Song Contest from a choice
of 3 methods.
METHOD 1: Milli Secim Turu #6
Milli Secim Turu, Azerbaijan's longest running national selection, has been chosen to select
a total of 5 representatives so far, with 2 acts having qualified to the Grand Final (Latifa
Soyuoz [#6] and Rilaya [#11]).
As with the previous editions, a total of 10 acts will compete for the right to represent Azerbaijan
at the North Vision Song Contest, all of whom will either have been born or raised in the country.
Voting will be in North Vision style and the act with the highest amount of votes will be selected.
METHOD 2: Üçün mahnı [?]
Only one edition of Üçün mahnı... has taken place to select an entry for the North Vision Song
Contest, but remains the most successful selection process for Azerbaijan to date in terms of
success rate (100% qualification rate with Nikki Jamal [#12]).
An artist will be internally selected to represent Azerbaijan at the North Vision Song Contest where
that artist will submit between 2 to 4 songs to compete in the national selection. AzTV will then release
an online poll where members of the public will be able to vote for their favourite song. The song with
the highest percentage will go on to represent Azerbaijan at the North Vision Song Contest.
METHOD 3: Internal selection
The joint most-used Azerbaijani selection process for the North Vision Song Contest is an internal
selection. As with Milli Secim Turu, 2 out of the 5 selected entries have been successful in qualifying
to the Grand Final of the contest (Nikki Jamal [#4] and Ilhama Gasimova [#5]).
Again, the national broadcaster would internally select an act to represent Azerbaijan at the North Vision
Song Contest. Every day for a week, AzTV will release clues regarding the internally selected act with the
artist and song being presented at the end of the week. Suggestions would be taken into consideration.
Whichever method is chosen, there will be no returning NVSC artists competing in the selection process.
The poll will close on Saturday 1st August.
