Welcome to the official announcement thread for North Laul #16
the Estonian National Selection for the Northvision Song Contest 16
North Laul is a national music festival that has been held for three years so far, and it is meant
to select the Estonian representative for the North Vision Song Contest, the biggest musical
competition held among European countries.
The Format
For the upcoming North Laul, the format will remain the standard one as in the previous editions, with minor changes.
Six songs by six different artists will battle in an unique evening full of music and emotions.
Both televoters and international juries have the right to decide the winner of the competition
and the Estonian representative for the North Vision Song Contest.
Changes in the format
For the first time in the North Laul history, no Superfinal (or second round) will be held.
The Voting
International Juries vote with
Televoters rate all the songs from 0 to 1000 - the numbers represent fictional text messages sent from the audience
Pay attention: you do not have 1000 points in total, nor you have to spread them equally between the competing songs;you can give a song as many points as you wish, independently from the points you gave other songs, and of course provided that
you do not give each song an higher value than 1000.

International Juries can now apply to be a part of the judging panel. 5 spots (excluding the
Estonian jury) are free andready to be taken. If ERR gets more than 5 jury applications, a draw will determine the lucky jury members among all those who sent a submission.
