North Laul Editions History

Ever since the 13th edition of the North Vision Song Contest, ERR organizes an annual national

music festival called "North Laul", which is meant to select the

Estonian representative
at the European competition.

The voting format of the National Selection has been subject to changes throughout the editions:
in most cases the 50/50 combined results system has been used to determine the winner of the competition,
nevertheless, the results have been based upon televoting only in a few occasions as well (#17, #18).
Early North Laul editions (#13, #14, #15) had two rounds within the show: a so-called First Round
(50/50 system) and a Superfinal (viewers' opinion), which would ultimately determine the winner.
