3rd Panem Song Contest
Welcome to the third edition of Panem Song Contest, a relatively small online song contest based in Panem, the fictional nation of the Hunger Games. The contest features mostly American singers, but some regions of Canada and Mexico are also eligible.
The 2nd Panem Song Contest has concluded, with District 7 emerging as the winner. Each year the districts must send a musical act to sing for their lives, as one by one, they are all cut from the contest and sentenced to an untimely demise into a pit of fire.
(the boundaries are based on the map in the Hunger Games Adventures app on Facebook, but simplified to fit state borders – I measured the borders by layering a map of the USA on top of the Panem map)
Map of the divisions of Texas in spoiler -
The '4' is meant to be '2'

Confirmation rules -
New rules are in bold
1. There will be 12 players (all districts must compete in each edition)
2. Once you claim a district, it’s yours until you withdraw or swap with another player.
3. Anyone else interested after all districts are taken will be added to a ‘taglist’ and will be tagged whenever a district becomes free. From there it’s first come, first serve (no draws or waiting list)
4. If you need to withdraw for one edition, but want to keep your district, we can get someone to replace you, and you will get the district back the following edition.
5. Artists can only compete once (unless they win), as they are dead in-universe. Popular artists should be used at your own risk.
6. Artists must have been born or raised in the district. Having parents from there or living there later in life are not valid connections, as they aren’t meant to move in-universe. They must have moved there before the age of 12.
6.1. The only exception is if they are from a state that is underwater. e.g. A singer born in Alabama who lives in Tennessee can compete for District 12, but a singer born in Louisiana who lives in Tennessee can only compete for District 11.
7. If you send a group, 100% of the lead singers in the group must have connection to the district (for the same reason as the previous rule)
8. National selections can only feature songs from one artist.
9. Covers are allowed as long as the song hasn’t already competed
10. The recap spot will be 25 seconds long.
11. Private approval is not required. You only need to post it in the thread.
12. Instrumentals are not allowed
13. Roleplay is encouraged. Within the contest, the artist could have either been selected internally or have volunteered.
Post-confirmation rules -
1. The songs will always be shown in the numerical order of the districts.
2. Each district must rank the other songs from 12, 10, 8-0. The voting will last for a week.
3. If you do not vote without a reason, you will receive a strike. A replacer will vote on your behalf. If we cannot get one, two districts will be randomly selected and their votes will be combined.
4. The results will be presented on a scoreboard, with the points announced in numerical order of the districts. When it is impossible for a district to win, their name will appear red. After each round, the dead acts will be announced.
4. Confirmation will open a day or two after the results. Anyone who does not confirm or withdraw will receive a strike and their district will be up for grabs.
5. Getting three strikes will also result in losing your district and being banned for 3 editions.
