I may as well throw my two cents in:
Cyprus - obvious qualifier but not gonna trouble the top 5 imo, banging song but somewhat forgettable on the night.
Montenegro - so bad it was kinda funny but no way did this deserve qualification
Finland - just a bit dull and repetitive
Poland - I was rooting for this and it got a massive reaction on Twitter from what I saw. However after to minutes it ran out of steam. I'm not shocked but I would have like to have seen it advance
Slovenia - I really like music video to this but I found some of the beauty lost on stage. Happy for qualification but I would have hated if it sat out.
Czech Republic - really great performance and very deserving of qualification. Could see it challenging for top10 as nothing that similar to it in the competition.
Hunagry - pretty LED, and great third minute but i was bored by then and I imagine most of Europe was too. I thought it would go through due to Hungary's strong record and a number of Hungary friendly countries voting but I am not mourning the loss.
Belarus - a massive guilty pleasure for me and the performance was so fun it brought a smile to my face. Very happy it qualified
Serbia - great vocal, great led, good song and a strong package. Well deserved and expected. Could surprise on Saturday as there is a lack of balkan flavour this year imo.
Belgium - never got this. Chorus is just so anticlimactic and boring. Odd staging/outfit and just not good enough from Belgium
Georgia - really good performance, great vocal; but a intense and the lack of blinking creeps me out. I am not shocked it didnt qualify like other - another song artificially lifted by great staging??
Australia - undeniably a awe inspiring, superlative performance. However as much as the I love the stage show, I dont like the song and I actually find it a but grating. I didnt get winners vibes personally but others love it so what do I know!!??
Iceland - HATRID MUN SIGRA. Wig? Snatched. Eurovison? Slayed Captialism? Defeated. Hotel? Trivago. This is my favourite eurovision entry ever and I plan to spend at least £20 voting for them. I really hope they win on Saturday, I dont think they will but top3 is achievable imo.
Portugal - the song and performance didnt connect with meor appeal to me, but I wanted to see it advance as I felt that it was a unique flavour to final and i love an underdog and Portugal are Eurovision's underdog imo.
Greece - always gonna qualify and well deserving of the place on final. Staging was random but I guess it was worked and was quite pretty. I love the smokiness of Katerine's voice but idk bout you but I felt like she a gargle in her throat which i really want clear.
And last but not least
San Marino - this just bought a smile to my face and brings an element of fun. I for one am glad it advanced.
Overall the quality of the semi was a lot higher than I anticipated before eurovison. I thought the two girl hosts were good and the younger host (Azi?) was alright but the old guy was very unfunny and awkward.
