Dýria has voted - election results are in. DRTV Fréttir - 31 júlí 2022 DRTV Nuacht - 31 Iúil 2022 DRTV Tiðindi - 31 júlí 2022 DRTV Nevezioù - 31 Gouere 2022
Counting commenced at 08:00 DST, taken from a centre in Goulwena, Dyflinnjaborg.
In early July, the Alþingi was dissolved, following the collapse of the coalition between the Dýrian Democratic Party & An Comhaontas Glas, as the two dropped below the 53 seats required to keep a majority. Thus, a snap election was called by the Taoiseach immediately, and the date was set for the 30th of July 2022, a Saturday. This was the first time in over 20 years that an election was held on the weekend.
Campaigning took place across the country for 3 weeks. Televised debates were held in all languages on DRTV 1-4, before a final debate between the current Taoiseach, Sinéad Kýosdóttir, and Tánaiste Caitríona Arnarsdóttir was held on Thursday, 28th July. Opinion polling seemed to indicate that the current coalition would survive, albeit with a much smaller % of the vote this time. The last poll before election day had the DDP on 23.5%, with CG having 20.5%, with the People's Party of Dýria in 3rd place with 15.3%.
Who was eligible to vote in the election?
All citizens of Dýria who were aged 16 and over could register to vote within their constituency. This election was the first time that voters aged 16-17 could cast a ballot in the election, following the referendum held in 2020 which was passed and signed into law in 2021.
Additionally, those living in Dýria for over 5 years and have a permanent residency were also allowed to vote, regardless of having Dýrian citizenship or not. These voters would be included within the supplementary register.
Dýrians abroad were not entitled to vote at embassies around the world. Dýrians will be asked to vote on this motion in late 2022 or early 2023 and if passed, will give Dýrians abroad the right to vote at the nearest Dýrian embassy.
How many seats were up for election?
Following boundary changes due to a change in population, the Alþingi was increased from 88 seats to 106. The constituencies can be found in this picture with how many seats each one has.
However in this election, only 105 seats were up for election. This is due to the fact that the current Ceann Comhairle (speaker of the Alþingi), Piarás Ó Murchú, was automatically returned as outgoing Ceann Comhairle. His constituency of North Dyflinnjaborg only elected 5 seats due to this, instead of 6 normally. 1 of the 10 seats in the Firðir-South Dyflinn constituency is reserved for the Karenoise (Cornish) minority, living on the Inizi Kerneveuriadezed.
Election day
Large queues were reported across the country, as turnout was up. Taken from a polling station in Tráway City.
Polls opened at 07:00 DST and closed at 21:00 DST. According to Dýrian law, any voters that arrive at the polling station before 21 DST must be allowed cast their votes, as long as they are registered and have ID. Many polling stations reported that they still had voters coming in at 20:59 to cast their ballot. Voting on the outer islands of Dýria opened on Friday, to allow for any delays.
703,290 people were registered to vote in the election, out of a population of 980,278. Turnout was up by 1.1% compared to 2019, at 80.9% of all eligible voters casting their ballot. This was the highest turnout in a general election since the 1990s. The first constituency to report results was Eyja-Norður, the least populated constituency, and the last one to report their results was Tráway City, due to delays in obtaining ballot boxes from certain polling stations around the city.
Result
Map showing the first placed party in each constituency.
With the final constituency reporting their results within the past hour, the Dýrian Democratic Party, led by incumbent Taoiseach Sinéad Kýosdóttir, almost matched the amount of seats she received in 2019, however she did lose 1 seat to end up with 28 (including Ceann Comhairle). An Comhaontas Glas managed to secure 23 seats, an increase of 1. The People's Party of Dýria, a left-wing party, managed to gain 3 seats from 2019. The biggest gain of the election, however, came from the Brittonic party, Diria d'Ar Vretoned, led by leader Aziliz Le Peuc'h, scoring 11 seats - an increase of 8. This was attributed to huge turnout in Brittonic constituencies, particularly in Mervent Diria-North Maghlasmá, Le Peuc'h's home constituency. Their sister party, Sjólandiskt Framtíð, lost 2 seats, but was widely successful in the Sjólandic constituencies. The far-left party, Dlúthpháirtíocht-Solidarity, newly registered, won 6 seats. This election was notable as a defeat for the right in Dýria, with the traditional right-wing Independence Party losing 7 seats. The newer, more lenient & liberal Progressive Party won 3 seats. The far-right party, Dýrian National Front, won just 1 seat this time, while the Karenoise people voted in their first ever Teachta Dála (TD), Lorryn Le Meur, leader of the Karenoise Voice party. Independent candidates won 8 seats. More detailed breakdowns are below:
Breakdown of seats by constituency:
Thus, the coalition did not reach the majority required in the Alþingi. They missed it by 2 seats. Not being discouraged, the Taoiseach stated that: I am amazed and proud of our election performance. I want to thank all of those who went out yesterday and cast their ballot, using their democratic right to vote and have their voices heard. I am proud of being Dýrian today, as half a million of us decided to make their voices heard. I want to thank my supporters personally too, your support is always appreciated.
Aziliz Le Peuc'h, leader of Diria d'Ar Vretoned, stated that: The overwhelming support towards my party has definitely shown that people across this country wanted to see some change. I am extremely thankful to all of my supporters. I am willing to use my platform to address important issues, not only relating to Brittonic issues but nationwide ones as well. We gained 8 seats, enough to make us the 4th largest party in the country. I am extremely satisfied.
What happens now?
Despite the lack of a majority by the ruling coalition, there is a very high chance that Sinéad Kýosdóttir will serve another term as Taoiseach.
Sitting at 51 seats between the two parties, the Taoiseach and Tánaiste will now discuss a coalition with another left-wing party. Diria d'Ar Vretoned and Sjólandiskt Framtíð have already ruled out serving in a coalition government with the Dýrian Democratic Party and An Comhaontas Glas, with both leaders stating it would not be in the interests of their party and voters to do so. Jeaic Ó Fithcheallaigh, leader of the People's Party of Dýria, has stated he would be interested in forming a government with the current coalition, however only after important issues, such as the drugs crisis are addressed and a realistic plan to combat this is drawn out. Ó Fithcheallaigh also stated that a "reasonable" approach towards the proposed memorandum of friendship with Frootania and Lakadamia was needed.
With the PPD joining, the government would have 62 seats between them, which would be enough to sustain a majority. Negotiations are to take place throughout August, with a settlement reached near the end of August.

SOTHÅLA • FORDIAN LANGUAGE • NAME CHANGE SOTHÅLA: A NAME CHANGE TO GET CLOSER OF THEIR FORDIAN ROOTS.
The archipelago of Sothåla, the easternmost territory of the Lakadamian Federation, is the youngest of the territories, as it was officially a Lakadamian Territory for less than 75 years now. Prior to that, the territory was possessed by Fordia and they decided on joining the Lakadamian Federation through a referendum.
The territory recognize as official two languages: Fordian, and Everish, however, 98% of the Sothalan population only speaks Fordian.
This name change has been voted within the Sothalan Parliament, with 100% voted in favour, a first in Sothåla.
As approved by the Lakadamian Parliament too, the name change will be made official in a month exactly, on the 1st of September. This name change will be made effective in two languages: Fordian and Lakadamian, however, the territory will be keeping the name of "Sothala" in Everish.
ÉVELYA • ELECTIONS • BOYCOTT ÉVELYA: POLITICAL TENSIONS AHEAD OF THE LOCAL ELECTIONS.
It might be the first time that in a local election, one of the 3 "traditional" parties of the federation might not win in one territory, as Évelya, one of the eastern territory of the Federation, is expected to see the far-right party Alternative Lakadamie to win most of the 82 Seats available. Currently, they are in a coalition with the main right-wing party Parti Républicain Lakadamie, which is believed to go from 34 seats to... 0. The rest of the polling results shows that a second far-right party, Lakadamie d'Abord, expected to enter the parliament, while the left-wing coalition is expected to get less than 10 seats... for 3 parties.
Some political parties have already announced their plans to not participate in these elections, just like the Parti Communiste Lakadamian, which requested their voters to support one of the left-wing party of their choice. Same decision with most smaller parties, as it is believed that the left-wing parties are the only one able to counter the possibility to see the far-right governing on their one in one territory... despite polling at less than 10 seats (for now).
Some other parties, like Moko Lakadamiya (Language and Minorities interest) have planned to request their voters to still do their electoral rights (especially at a few months before voting becomes mandatory), but have not decided for which party they will throw their support.
The Évelyan population will be voting on the 25th of September, to an uncertain future.
LAKADAMIA • UNION • POLITICAL ORGANIZATION LAKADAMIA: GOVERNMENT IS THINKING ABOUT JOINING TWO UNIONS
In a recent reunion within the government, Prime Minister Jonas de Mésathi discussed the idea of Lakadamia potentially joining two unions: • The Fantasian Organization for Indigenous recognition • The Fantasian Union of Socialist Nations
The wishes of the prime minister to join the Fantasian Organization for Indigenous recognition does not come as a surprise, as for decades, Lakadamia has been doing the impossible so that the Salpétrian people, that have inhabited Lakadamia for thousands of years, are allowed to live of their tradition, language, culture.
The second however was the surprising one, as Lakadamia is nowhere near a socialist state, however, this wish was mostly to join the union as an observer state, since 2018, the Parti Socialiste Lakadamian has been governing the country within a coalition. Under the wing of PM Jonas de Mésathi and Margaux Lavigne, leader of the PSL, the party took a further step into the left, enough to make Social-Democracy as one of their ideologic minority within the Party.
This decision came as a surprise, both by the inhabitants and by the politicians, believing that the government would rather remain neutral in a political union. The federal parliament will be voting on this decision within the month, and then discussion with members of the union will begin, at a potential accesion of Lakadamia.
DYRIA • ELECTIONS • QUESTORMAT • PRESS CONFERENCE LKD GOVERNMENT: PRIME MINISTER'S PRESS CONFERENCE.
Right after the governmental reunion, PM Jonas de Mésathi gave his weekly press conference, and replied to a bunch of questions, here is the most important ones:
• The Astonavian country of Dyria has recently had an election, as Lakadamia and Dyria are long-time friend nations, what is your statement from the results? "We believe Dyria, and the Dyrians did the right choice days ago, Dyria has always been one of the friendliest nation to Lakadamia and the Lakadamians, it is just normal for me, on the name of all of the Lakadamians, to keep suporting, and also strenghtening the relations of our two countries. I will be personally meeting the Dyrian Prime Minister in a few weeks, here in Pavlodia, but also in Loriant (QE), along leading members of the Dyrian and Lakadamian Brittonic parties, to discuss about Quéstormat, the Brittonic representation in Pavlodia, and more."
In another question, mentionning a potential memorandam of friendship between the nations of Dyria, Frootania and Lakadamia, the Prme Minister simply replied: "We are working on it."
And a third question worth noting, the Prime Minister was asked if he plans to go visit some other nations before the February 2023 Elections: "I do not know yet, considering the upcoming months are going to be tense, and fast-paced here, with the 27 territorial elections, and right after, we have our final project to mandatory voting to vote in the parliament, and the upcoming legislative election as you mentionned. I do not know, might plan a visit to the countries of the Association of Southern Serica (Qasentria, Namimori, Kuwiang, Saint Vittoria, Katsyria and Werdiana), we will see how our works in the government, the parliament and in the federation goes for the upcoming weeks."

TERRITORIAL ELECTIONS IN LAKADAMIA: PART TWO
From June to November 2022, all eligible Lakadamian voters are called to go elect the 2782 territorial representatives, spanning from 40 to 212 depending of the territory. All elections are based on a certain amount of representative for each territories, divided by the regions of said territory, solely based on the population.
7 more elections were held as of recently, concerning the following territories: Anau, Lumivie, Shisaka, Orsavie, Damavil, Iciya and Ouest
ANAU
Anau, a territory located west of Pavlodia, and bordering the Lakadasian Strait and facing Hwaesonna, is considered by many, politically, to be a versatile territory, as all 3 major parties usually gain a certain success in part of the territory. The North of the territory usually thrives for the right-wing and the Parti Républicain, the coastline and region of Anau (town), usually votes for the Parti Libéral and its allies, while the rest supports the left-wing, with the Parti Socialiste.
During 2019-2022, the Parlement d'Anau was composed like this:
The results of the elections, that were held on the 17 July 2022:
During the electoral campaign, both the Liberals and the Socialist suffered from a mid campaign, with the lack of proper propositions for the territory, and also the growth in support of Les Verts / Èn Garaènn, which shows during the results, as the previous coalition of the PSL & PPL lost 12 seats. With only 31 seats overall, this is not enough for both parties to continue their coallition together, due to 5 seats missing for a majority. However, weeks later, it was confirmed that the PSL & PLL will be joined by Les Verts for making up a strong coalition for Anau, that puts Ecology as a key piece of the upcoming 3 years.
Other parties on the rise are for example the feminist party Elles!, managing to gain 5 Seats, and the far-right party Alternative Lakadamie, although appareared unaffeded by the presence of another far-right wing party Lakadamie D'abord, gains 3 more seats, and apparear as the official opposition in Anau. The only party, other than the PSL & PLL that lost seats, is the Parti Républicain, losing 14 seats, including all of their 5 previously held seat in the Région de Dordie, as those 5 seats were taken by a regionalist party Parti de la Dordie, and Alternative Lakadamie.
LUMIVIE
Lumivie, is one of the center-west territories, surrounded by the territories of Dèlmivdie to the north, Sud to the west and Lazulie to the east, while bordering the Lakadasian Ocean to the south. Politically, it is a territory majorly shared between the PSL & the PLL, with the PRL being able to gain some support, especially through the older population. It is also one of the few territories that see the minority and language interest party Mо̄ko Lakādamiyā, being able to gain enough votes and seats, to be present in the Parlement de Lumivie. For the past 15 years, the PSL and VG were able to form a coalition, either as a majority, or as a minority. Which was the case between 2019 & 2022:
The results of the elections, that were also held on the 17 July 2022:
Moving unaffected by the minority coalition for three years, both PSL & VG goes victorious in the Lumivian elections, as both parties gained 18 seats, rising from 62 to 80 seats for the coalition, enough for a majority. Minority interest Mо̄ko Lakādamiyā manages to gain seats, as they rises from 7 to 9 seats, gaining seats from 5 out of the 6 regions. Same scenario happened to the feminist party Elles!, as they gained 10 seats in 5 regions overall, half of them coming from the capital region. Along Elles!, the Parti Pirate Lakadamia and Force de Gauche both makes their enter in Lumivie, with 6 and 5 seats. The center and right-wing parties lost a decent amount of seats, although remaining strong, the Parti Libéral fell from 34 to 23 Seats, losing 9 seats. Similar scenario for the far-right Alternative Lakadamie, as they went from 11 to 4 seats. The biggest loss comes from the Parti Républicain, as despite keeping seats in 5 out of 6 regions, they've lost 23 seats overall.
SHISAKA
Shisaka, is one of the 7 autonomous territories, this privilege allows them to keep a certain independence within the federal, culturally, linguistically, but also poltically, one of the few territories where most of the political parties are locally based, only a few nationwide managed to keep support in Shisaka. Politically again, Shisaka was recognized as one of the few stronghold of the Parti Républicain, as the party usually remains supported there, despite the whole Evelyan debacle. The PRL is usually supported by Shisakan independentist party Dokuritsu, however, between 2019 and 2022, no proposition about a potential Shisakan independence was given to the population.
The Shisaka Gikai was represented like this for the past 3 years:
The results of the elections, that were held on the 24 July 2022:
The lack of independence support hurted the right-wing coalition of the PRL & DK, making both parties losing 32 and 29 seats. This loss benefied to the left-wing as the Parti Socialiste gained 27 Seats, and the local green party Gurīn Fyūshā gained 16 seats. Another party that gained a lot of seats is the local division of the feminist party Elles!, as they gained 14 Seats. All 3 parties have confirmed they have been in talks to form a left-wing coalition putting Ecology and Feminist as the main projects for the upcoming 3 years. As an attempt to reduce the support of the local liberal and regionalism party Jiyū to Renpо̄, the Parti Libéral Lakadamia participated in their first Shisakan elections in decades. However, they only gained 3% of the votes... the same amount was gained by the JtR, where they gained 5 seats.
ORSAVIE
Orsavie, is a territory in the north of Lakadamia, between the Bay of Misneyne, and the Lakadasian Ocean, facing two territories, Nord and Misneyne. However, unlike these two, Orsavie has always been a conservative paradise in Western & Northern Lakadamia, as the PRL usually gains enough success on their own... until 2019, where for the first time, they didn't gained enough seats to govern on their own, and were also defeated by a left-wing coalition of the Parti Socialiste and Les Verts, which had both gained 30 seats, just enough for a majority.
The results of the elections, that were held on the 31 July 2022:
Not that much change in Orsavie, as the PSL didn't gained nor lost any seats, the biggest change however comes from the opposition, the Parti Républicain, as they have lost 7 seats, redistribued to the 3 other parties, Les Verts, who gained one seats, Parti Libéral, who gained 2, and the newly entrant Force de Gauche, who gained 4 seats. With 31 seats to the coalition, and 35 seats overall to the left-wing, it is most than certain that the PSL and VG will continue their coalition in Orsavie.
DAMAVIL
The Damavil Archipelago are a territory separated of the rest of Lakadamia, by one country, Hwaesonna. It is a territory that, politically, cares for its future, as Les Verts, usually gained a strong support in the territory. A growing support aswell, as in 2019, for the first time, the party was able to conduct a government, a minority one, with 28 out of 60 seats:
The results of the elections, that were held on the 7 August 2022:
6 Parties are getting represented in the archipelago, two of them, for the first time. Les Verts kept their strong support locally, as the party gained 2 seats, just enough to be able to form a majority government. The Parti Socialiste also gained, one seat, to be exact, and will be able to support it's long time allies in the territory. Other parties that gained as the two newcomers, feminist party Elles! and the Force de Gauche, both gained 5 and 2 seats. The PRL & PLL lost seats, 3 for the Libéral and 7 for the Republicains.
ICIYA
Iciya, recently reduced by almost half of its size, is a territory tightened between Swarrel and Shisaka. It is officially part of the Liberal Territories, along 4 others in central-east Lakadamia (Swarrel, Victorya and Orlao), where the Parti Libéral usually gains their highest scores. Compared to other territories, the life if Iciya is mostly urban, as the two major cities, usually dictates the political life of Iciya, due to that, in 2019, the Parti Libéral lost a consequent amount of seats in favour of the left-wing, while in Moshie, it was the final step to secure a territorial independence.
The results of the elections, that were held on the 7 August 2022:
The results shows that the Parti Socialiste kept enough support, and gained 4 seats. While the Parti Libéral recovers from their huge loss in 2019, they are now apparearing at 16 seats, while Les Verts, despite gaining more votes, gets 14 seats. These elections in Iciya showed the very typical scenario as of recently, the centre and left wings all gained, while the right wing lost, The Parti Républicain and Alternative Lakadamie both lost seats.
OUEST
Ouest, is another one of the territory that surrounds Pavlodia, is, unlike Central or Anau, a territory mainly in the left-wing, as it is considered as one of the stronghold of the Force de Gauche, in 2019, the territory was governed by a coalition between the FDG and the Parti Socialiste.
The results of the elections, that were held on the 14 August:
Another elections where the main coalition lost enough seats to not be able to govern as a majority again, as the FDG and the PSL lost 8 seats, and enough to not be able to form their coalition on it's exact state, they however, confirmed that talks have been started with Les Verts, who gained 5 seats. The rest of the results shows that for the first time, two far-right party will be represented, as Lakadamie D'abord, a new far-right party founded in 2021, nibbled enough seats and support from Alternative Lakadamie, to gain 3 seats and representation in their very first territory outside of the Dèlmivdie. Other rises shows the arrival of the feminist party Elles!, gaining 9 seats in the Western Parliament,
This is it for now, you can find more detailed of these results on the wiki page for the territorial elections: fc.songcontests.eu/wiki/2022_Lakadamian_territorial_elections

| JUST IN ►►► THE LAKADAMIAN SOCIALIST PARTY SPLITS! ►►► |
Currently leading party in the government and parliament, the Parti Socialiste is facing some internal crisis, especially from the social-democracy branch of the party, claiming that the party ignored this part of politics, to focus over ecology and socialism.
Current prime minister (2018 -) and former president of the Parti Socialiste (2013 - 2018) Jonas de Mésathi, at the "Septembre de la Gauche", a meeting uniting the left-wing parties of the Parti Socialiste, Les Verts / Èn Garaènn and Force de Gauche, held a few weeks ago in Frélac-Sur-Mer, his wishes and hope that the Parti Socialiste takes a more left-wing presence, by adopting eco-socialism as the main ideology of the party, in accordance of the program taken from the party for the previous and upcoming elections in 2018, 2020, 2021 & 2023. A move approved by 74% by the members of the party on the 3rd of October.
However, this decision, despite being welcomed by the majority, a minority, which believed in Social-democracy, lead by 4 left-wing politicians, have confirmed that if this vote would go through, they would leave the party, to form a left-wing party called Parti Démocrate. A threat put into execution just minutes ago.
Laurène Delga, François Pays-Bas, Bernard Cassevieux and Stéphane Le Soll, the 4 politicians founder of the Parti Démocrate Lakadamian.
As of right now, it is unknown how this will impact the upcoming months, in both the Territorial elections, and the upcoming Legislatives elections of February 2023. As of now, the secretary of the Parti Socialiste Lakadamian confirmed that up to 2,000 people have decided to leave the party, merely corresponding to 5% of the total amount of adherents to the PSL, which is currently around 41000 members.
Jonas de Mésathi, the prime minister, and Marina Lecerf, current PSL president, have not reacted to this decision from the inside of their party. It is expected that they will within the upcomin hours. They did however saluted the approval to change the main ideology of the party into "Eco-Socialism".

| THE TERRITORY OF ORLAO REORGANISE IT'S COMMUNAL DIVISION ►►► |
At the otherside of the country, the small territory of Orlao, located between the territories of Victorya and Évelya, is a 8,468km² territory in the east of the federation, populated by 1,12m inhabitants, and is divided into 42 Communes... a number which will be soon part of the past, as the territory decided to reorganise their territorial division, started in 2019. It simply consisted in the merge of multiple towns, including its capital, named after the territory, Orlao, into 19 municipalities:
Communes of the territory of Orlao, current division, and future division from the 1st November. Orlao (city) is highlighted in a darker shade of green.
This merge was motivated by the wish of making economy, by divising, by barely more than half the amount of commues, and the amount of electer representants for all of the communes, which, will currently be able to keep all of it's member, until the upcoming local elections in 2024. A second, but unofficial reason, was to make the territory, and especially it's capital city, Orlao, be able to become a more relevant territory, and city, usually mistakenly considered as a part of the Terrritory of Évelya. With the merges, the city of Orlao will go from 114,231 inhabitants to 424,593 inhabitants, 38% of the territory's population.
