WEEK 5 // LIVING LEGENDS: PART II
After winning the mini challenge, me and my fellow team mates were given the iconic diva Cher. Of course she has a lot of songs, and we decided as a team each of our songs that will represent and hopefully carry us to the top this week. The Cher song that we've chosen to represent me, Delilah Grace is...CherBang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) Recap time: 0.57+
The reason we've chosen this song is that in our opinion it's one of the songs that defied her career, being released in 1966, it was a huge milestone for her upcoming life in the music industry, it was also covered by a whopping amount of 49 times.

WEEK 5 // LIVING LEGENDS: PART II
The Cher song that we've chosen to represent me, Junglepu$$y is...CherIf I Could Turn Back Time Recap time: 3:19
We've chosen "If I Could Turn Back Time" as it was seen as a major comeback hit for Cher in the 1980s, after she had seen relatively mediocre success for years. While still not as big of a hit on the charts as some of her other songs, as it only reached #1 in Australia and Norway, it has since become one of the most iconic hits of the 1980s.

WEEK 5 // LIVING LEGENDS: PART II
The Cher song that we've chosen to represent me, Miss Piggy is...CherBelieve Recap time: 1:56+
The reason we've chosen this song is that in our opinion it's one of the songs that defined her career, being released in 1998, it became a massive number-one hit. Being 52 years old when the song got released, it made her the oldest female solo singer to top the Billboard Hot 100. It became one of the bestselling songs of all time, selling over 11 milion copies worldwide, a huge milestone in her already huge career.

Lyra Winter
EMOTIONS (1991)
Musically, "Emotions" it is heavily influenced by 1970s disco music and showcases Carey's upper range and extensive use of the whistle register. It became Carey's fifth consecutive number one hit on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, giving her the distinction of being the first (and, to date, only) act to have their first five singles make number 1 on the Hot 100.
Timeslot: 1:49+
I also feel the necessity to highlight the lack of cooperation Azealia + Colleen put into the challenge as part of the team, making it a duo rather than a team.

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU (1994)
This iconic song can without any doubt be called Mariah's highlight during her still active career. Warming the hearts of all people during the ending of December (and well ... before and after). This timeless bop is her to stay and slay on the DSR stage.

Azealia Bongos
WITHOUT YOU (1994)
The Rolling Stone magazine has said this song was a "likeliest contender" for ballads like "I Will Always Love You" praising how "Carey dips into her lower register and is accompanied by backup singers (including herself) magnified to sound like a mighty gospel chorus." This song is special because what we usually listen from Mariah is her high register and her low register is what outstands the most about this one.
Timeslot: 3:19+
I also feel the necessity to highlight the poor effort Lyra has put into the challenge as part of the team, making it look like an individual challenge rather than a team challenge.
