A question to Jasna!
Can you change the Wins per country list with the Points!
I know you all laugh now about me!
But this stress me really and no joke that remind me at my bulling time in the primery school!
I personly don't like to talk why i get this feeling!
But since a while i can't really join the Retro WWWSC Wika! And I get more and more the feeling that I must be win! And I don't like the feeling! Otherside I know that a 2nd Win never would happens!
And this situation really stress me here! And I must that make that I feel here not more so the fun to send a Song And it would be worser and worser! And that alone only about the list! Really weard for me!
And sad too!
Sorry for the weard message!
You shouldn't worry about such small things that don't change anything in your life. But if you do, then you should look at this "problem" from different perspectives. You probably like numbers, so I will give you some numbers
Let's compare 3 countries -
Latvia,
Mexico and
South Korea. 2 of them have similarly large music industries (you can imagine, which two I'm talking about).
Latvia has been in Retro WWWSC since day 1 - 72 full editions. Got 2 wins and 2 other podiums. It's an average of 1 podium per 18 editions.
Mexico has been active since edition 7 - 66 full editions. It has 3 wins and 9 other podiums. That's an average of 1 podium per 5,5 editions.
South Korea has been active for 44 full editions. It has 1 win and 4 other podiums. That's an average of 1 podium per 8,8 editions. In my opinion 1 podium every 10 editions is already a good thing, but others might think different.
Don't forget that you have 14 extra top10 finishes. In total that's 14 + 5 = 19 top10 finishes. So roughly you get a top10 finish every 2 editions. I'd be extatic about such result, but I'm nowhere near it. In comparison
Mexico has 12 podiums + 22 other top10 finishes, so it's a total of 34 top10 finishes. So roughly it's 1 top10 finish every 2 editions.
Latvia's results here are a lot more different - 4 podiums + 16 other top10 finishes makes total of 20 top10 finishes. That's 1 top10 finish every 3,6 editions, which isn't too bad for a small country like
Latvia.
One more very important statistic here is the fact that you've NEVER been last in Retro WWWSC.
Latvia and
Mexico can't say the same.
So in general we can conclude - on average numbers you're not doing much worse than a similar size music industry of
Mexico. Plus, let's not forget what Gilberto already said - you're the only one of us 3 that has won both WWWSC and Retro WWWSC, even though mexican music industry is as competitive as South Korea's. We both have wins only in Retro. I mean,
Mexico has a win in WWWSC, but it was a different user, so no wins for Gilberto.
One more thing - I looked up on wiki pages of all 3 countries and I noticed that in Retro WWWSC you've used 1 artist 10 (!!!) times in just 45 editions of participation, the same artist every 4/5 editions. That's what worries me the most. I mean, no offence to you or that artist, but for a country that produces so many artists, isn't it a bit too much? Don't quote me on this, but maybe that's what affects your results? Maybe we're just a bit tired to see the same artists return so many times, when you could easily do 45 different artists of similar quality in 45 editions (I'm not saying you should, but you could if you'd wish to). What I mean is that you're not using the full potential of your music industry.
One more thing - it took me 47 editions to get my first win in this contest. It took 27 editions for
Mexico to win. It took you 3 editions to win this contest. Plus, in WWWSC you have more podiums (and wins) than Gilberto does, although he's been participating longer than you have. I mean, do I need to say more?
My HUGE suggestion to you is to do something different. Try to look for new artists, new music genres etc. Spice things up so to say. Yes, you might sometimes get bad and even very bad results, but that's just a part of the journey. As the famous tennis player Arthur Ashe has said: "Success is a journey, not a destination. The doing is more important than the outcome." Even though winning WWWSC is one of my goals here, I now understand that it may not come the next 50 or 100 editions (if ever), so I've started to enjoy the journey more than I used to. And you should too, because it's the journey you learn from, not the destination/result.
Now that I have teachers degree I can freely say this - focusing on the result (marks) is the biggest reason kids don't enjoy going to school. Kids should enjoy the journey of learning, but education system requires them to do/achieve specific things in specific amount of time, that there's no time to enjoy the process of learning. You just do the task and move on to the next one. This is also a reason, why we're so focused on results in our real lives.
P.S. Sorry for such long reply, but I'm not very good at writing tweets (if you know what I mean)
