I just realized that the song I wad originally going for doesn't meet the requirements ... Or at least I think so. Therefore I'm changing it to a very simple yet incredibly famous song:
Dieter Wiesmann - Bloss e chlini Stadt
( : Just a small town)
Unlike most others I'm not going for the "personal meaning": Bloss e chlini Stadt is about the city I originally come from and was born. Guess that's a strong enough connection to myself. I'm really interested to see how this will go.
This is also a bit of a tribute to this singer who passed away in 2015 at the age of 76.

It's not often I use something like this, so it's a perfect time to use it, especially because it fits the theme Plus, it's a song, that has been in my mind for very long time and I never gave it a chance. Skyforger - "Deviņvīru Spēks" (1:09 onwards, please) PICS: I could tell a lot and long about this song, and why I think it fits the theme, but I'll try to shorten it as much as I can. And only the main things. 1) It's a pagan metal song (if you didn't know it yet, Balts are still pretty much what christians would call "pagans", even though we also have christianity - we just don't want to forget our traditions that come from long before crusades) 2) It's a song with 2 meanings (in Soviet times latvians loved to make music with hidden message) - one that every latvian understands, when they read the lyrics, is about a plant that originates from european part of ex-USSR, an the other one being a protest - not only against Soviet occupation, but everything, that intruders have done to our nation in centuries. The plant in latvian is called Deviņvīru spēks (Verbascum thapsus), just like the song title says (in english that's "Nine men strength"). Why so? Because our ancestors have been able to cure 9 different ailments with it (don't ask me which). Latvians have always been herb pickers and even nowadays in market you can buy not only the herbs themselves, but also different produce from them. The 2nd meaning about the protest is basically a message that says - we're like dragon with 9 heads, you cut one, there's still plenty to go. This message pretty much means, that you can do whatever you want to us, you can kill us, but our traditions will stay alive. 3) Skyforger is folk-metal/folk-rock/folk band. You already know, that folk music is one of our many traditions, that we try to protect. There are enough folk bands in Latvia, but this band specifically performs songs that have some strong message, either about our history, traditions, our culture or identity. Basically everything they sing about, would be called "pagan" by christians. 4) This song imo is like an anthem to the fact, that we've survived centuries of mortification, but we're still true to ourselves. And nothing can really change this fact. History has proved it.

2:40 This song is a cover of the Mexican song La Bikina by Luis Miguel This cover is really special cause it's a different rendition of this beautiful song and reminds of my mother, she used to play this to me when I was 5 years old, and she would hold me in her arms til I sleep, this gives me so much nostalgia Edit: as the other has been used, I choose another from same album

I was thinking about submitting this entry previously but I always hesitated about it. So, the right time is now! :-) The reason, I am sending this entry is the history of Yugoslavia and the idea of socialism (even though it was authoritarian socialism). I just wonder why pro-Europeanism or pro-neoliberalism should always be promoted in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Yes, the socialist past was painful, it is true. However, it was not the fault of the idea of socialism that the system did not provide the egalitarian Marxist socialism in all of these post-socialist states. In a nutshell, Lepa Brena will represent Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 80th special edition of Retro WWWSC. Good luck to everyone! time slot: 03:23

Emin Sabitoghlu - Park (1984) Timeslot: 00:32+ or 00:59+ (feel free to choose whichever you prefer, I am fine with both yet could not decide which one I liked more) Emin Sabitoghlu is one of the most prominent composers of Azerbaijan, most famous for his collaboration with Rasim Ojaghov, an arthouse movie director from the same country. Azerbaijani entry for the upcoming edition, "Park", is the product of the collaboration between these two artists. "Park" is also the name of the movie directed by Rasim Ojaghov in 1984, which explores the themes of love, loneliness, alienation, simulation and suffering. It has three main protagonists: Marat, a brigade leader of an oil extraction group; Marat's friend, who is described as a very selfish person who does very immoral actions to get what he wants, and even "steal"s Marat's girlfriend; Vika, who used to be Marat's girlfriend and then gets married to Marat's friend. After their marriage, the three protagonists lose touch with each other. However, after a few years, when Marat's friend needs to have an internship with an oil extraction group for his dissertation, they rejoin and all the perished memories come into life again.. The movie, mainly, displays the feelings of longing and expectancy for the things that we want to be, yet that will never be realized. Everyone in the movie fools themselves. Marat wants to be happy, but he cannot, because he is always getting late. Vika gets married to be happy, but in fact, she never feels so, because she cannot forget her true love. Marat's friend, on the other hand, represents the simulation of happiness, he seems to having had a happy life, yet is unlucky. Thus, the main ideas of the movie are first, that the human beings are doomed to suffering throughout the life; and the second, appearance, rather than presence has become more important in our society - e.g. in the movie people are not happy, but they tirelessly try to seem happy. Because of the main ideas of the movie, I have a deep connection to its soundtrack as well. In my opinion, in every second of the song, you can feel the sadness and longing. The song also conveys the same ambiance with the movie: it feels like the composition notifies us that there is something missing, an unexplainable suffering and pain in our lives. This was a short description of why I have decided to choose this specific entry. As regards the technical sides, the picture and timeslot will be provided in a few days and I will edit this original post in doing so. Best of luck to everyone.
