Northvision: Your Decision 31 // Announcement Thread

ANNOUNCEMENT THREAD The BBC has just unveiled the selection method for the British 31st North Vision Song Contest entry. It was announced that the format will "Northvision: Your Decision" stay the same as last edition with one change. For the first time, a jury will make up 50% of the Grand Final results. Ten jury members were already chosen and will be contacted very soon. All 32 acts have been chosen and will be announced with each semi final. At this point the Head of Delegation would like to thank the international support for this selection. A total of 16 international submissions were considered aswell and two of them will participate in the selection. The remaining suggestions will be considered in future editions. SEMI-FINAL ONE Without further ado, here are the first acts which compete in the first semi-final.

WINNER HAS BEEN FOUND! The voting for Your Decision 31 is now closed and it's time to reveal the new voting procedure. The voting was divided into two groups with equal outcome on the result, Jury and Televoting, who had an equal say on the results. The juries were contacted before the Grand Final. Besides the United Kingdom, also Denmark Sweden Estonia Hungary Turkey Montenegro Andorra (Co-HoD) Greece Iceland and Romania voted as jury members in this edition. They had to rate each song individually, just as the televoters. After that, they had to rank all songs from 1st to 13th. Each jury member had a total of 1,000 (11 x 1,000 = 11,000) points which was automatically split up based on their ratings and ranking. The Televoting had also total of 11,000 points which was split based on their total points received from all voters. Each voter's favorite, runner-up and third place received additional five, three and one point(s) respectively. All totals were then added up, so that we now have a winner of Your Decision.
