I don't know about other continents, but it looks like italians are either lazy or they just don't give a f***. I mean, Germany and France had the first cases in Europe and look at them now 2 months later. Yes, they still are #2 & #3 for number of cases after Italy, but look at the numbers! They each have at least 10x less cases than Italy, which proves, that they've done their homework. And both have bigger population than Italy, both are popular tourism countries (just like Italy), so that just means Italy hasn't done their homework and are a threat to the whole Europe. That's my thoughts on the Europe part of this virus. But to be fair - I think the hype is way too high. I mean, yes there are cases and there are some deaths, but this virus isn't any worse than flu, which we experience every year and no one really hypes about that. Each year Flu causes more deaths than this Coronavirus has done (and probably will do), so we can just go about our lives. We've all caught Flu at some point in our lives and we're still more or less alive. Only certain groups of people have to be more careful, because they are of a higher risk (but they also have higher risk on pretty much any illness). All you can do is just wash your hands as much as possible (when out in public), cover your mouth when coughing (just not with your palm) and eat healthy (+vitamins). These are precautions for flu as well. We can't do anything else. If we're meant to catch it, then we will no matter how precautious you'll be, so there's no point to panic about this...

Lord, can you finally stop with those posts? First you've bothered everyone in Fantasia, now you went on to the off-topics with your mass hysteria. There's more people dying from the regular flu if we go with the medical aspect, and there's more people committing suicide if we go by anxiety and mental facts, also partially endorsed by the media.

Honestly speaking i could not really care less about the disease As said by multiple people, i don't see it as any different than a standard flu. Yeah maybe just a bit more deadly, but in the end who cares? There has been much more deadlier diseases over the years and it is not like you can avoid it at this point completely anyways. If it comes it comes. I won't lose my sleep over this or change the way i live for that matter either. And yes i think it is overhyped Percentage of deaths compared to people infected is marginally very small as well Let me show you this video for example. Especially after watching that does not seem at all as bad as it has been made to look

I think is a normal virus. Men, I was in worse situations. For example, late August 2019 when I was on my bed with headache, with problems for move my arms and legs. That was my worst moment in my life, the Coronavirus is not too bad in my opinion.

Well well well. How the media has blown this up... I know people who have fallen for this hype. One guy I've met spent 230 Euros on a HAZMAT suit for this. But look at the facts for one moment. - 80,000 people died in the 2017-18 flu season in the United States alone. The swine flu of 2009 killed 575,000. This disease has caused the deaths of at most, 3,000 and almost all of these are extremely old/already ill patients, and almost all of these are in Hubei, where the epidemic is already slowing down - There are more who've recovered than who still have it now.
- 80% of the people who catch this virus require no medical help whatsoever and experience nothing more than mild cold & flu symptoms. Yes, some do require hospitalisation but even the vast majority of these recover with only a bit of treatment.
- China peaked its cases in about 3 weeks to a month. South Korea and Italy are already showing the same pattern, and we can imagine this will be the same with most other countries. And as for summer, look at the warmer countries like Singapore and even Vietnam, they have this well under control. What we are seeing now is probably the very WORST of the outbreak - Eurovision will most likely need not be cancelled.
Yes, precautions need to be taken as they are because there are vulnerable people. But the media is sensationalising this, because fear sells. Don't buy into it.

Agreed with most posts here. SBINNALA I get the feeling you're very scared of this virus. Can I help you feel more confident? For context, I was anxious about it for a day or two, looking at data closely, concerned about Iran and Italy's sudden jump in cases, concerned about whether major events like the Olympics or ESC would be cancelled (These are my two favorite events). If ESC is the focus of this topic, then I understand, and let's talk about that part of it. I imagined myself in the place of a Chinese person, where I would be very scared. But please realize how MANY people there are in China. In Hubei Province, where the virus originated, the virus affects (as of 25 February) 111 per 100,000 people. That's 0.11% of the population. Every other region has 3 cases per 100,000 people. And these are only the cases that get reported and confirmed - there isn't enough research behind how many people have mild cases that go uncounted. Unless you live in Hubei, worst case scenario, the rates will not climb above 0.11%. The biggest impact this virus is having has nothing to do with getting sick, but rather the spread of fear and economic reaction. Yes, we should focus on staying healthy, but we gotta keep enjoying ourselves too. I'd like to make the point that I work for a company where I hear about this virus all day long from coworkers and then I come home and my family talks about it and I go online where I just want to relax and forget about the world. This is becoming very tiresome. It's important to openly communicate with others, but on a level of decreasing the fear. Let's use this online space to share music instead.

In that case, Most of the elder's is dying for the virus and mostly is 80+ with 14.8 Percent fatality rate by age. Otherwise some of the country is formerly have COVID-19 infection suck as Cambodia, Nepal, and Sri Lanka has 1 confirmed cases and it's already discharged, Philippines has 3 confirmed cases and 2 only recovered and 1 dead, and Vietnam can recovers 16 patients with COVID-19.
For me, I was being aware for this new strain of Coronavirus and for i'am being afraid but I was recently to wear my mask every school time during the time for the COVID-19 in my country last month especially for outside.

If the mask makes you feel reassured, wear it. But try not to worry yourself sick about this, especially when your country hasnt got any active cases or local transmission.
