Well yes I can confirm that from tomorrow onwards, here in Italy almost everything will be shut down, with bars, pubs, schools and many other activities being closed until 3rd April 2020. The current Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte has also officially declared tonight that citizens won’t be allowed to leave their regions (the “states” of Italy from an American perspective) for any reason unless they sign a particular paper. Also, supermarkets, drug stores and similar activities are now announcing they’ll enforce some strict rules like allowing only one person or two to enter at a time. The situation is extremely serious. The entire school system is experiencing a crisis they’ve never had before as it is unknown whether the current school year will be extended to the end of June or not and when will exams take place. As far as I know, teachers are collaborating with students to do online lessons on specialized websites or social media apps, like WhatsApp, that’s very popular here. Finally, I want to clarify that these strict security measures have already been in place in the northern part of the country, were the first cases were reported, but from now on they’ll come into effect nationwide (including the south, where I live).

The situation has evolved in France in a sense we don't have anymore precise informations about the new cases, and when we know who they are because they are CEO of a big company, minister or deputies, we don't know most of the time how they were contaminated. The only thing that I know is that among the 1400+ cases confirmed in France, at least 25 are from Bouches-du-Rhône (mainly made of Marseille and its suburb).
There are also two quite important news here in Marseille: the first one is that a test has begun about the effects of hydroxychloroquin on the virus. The goal is to confirm the results already obtained by Chinese scientists in Wuhan. That medicine, already used for 70+ years for malaria, modifies the chemical composition of blood and apparently, it disturbs the replication of the virus. If it works as well as expected, it could be a quick gameover for the virus.
The second news is that a new cruise ship from a German company with 2000+ people on it might be quarantined near Marseille. Two potential cases have been dectected and we're waiting for the results of their tests.

This shit seriously needs to stop Now they cancelled all the public events which are planned in our city from 10th to 20th of March... and they even closed the schools Why to make such a big drama out of something that’s not even that important, there are other things about which they should care other than paying attention to this dumb virus which didn’t even infect that many people at least here
