So like now that the latvian HoD is removed... Can we maybe have a country replacing latvia like Iran  or Uzbekistan  ? they aren't European or close-up. I rather prefer Egypt or Liechtenstein returning |

So like now that the latvian HoD is removed... Can we maybe have a country replacing latvia like Iran or Uzbekistan ? Latvia will definitely be staying in the contest. They have a great music scene that is just waiting to be shown to the contest.  |

 DNS 30 COMES TO AN END! Oslo, Norway • 28 July 2020 On Sunday evening the 30th edition of Den Norsken Sangen concluded. 10 acts fought for the right to represent Norway at the upcoming edition but only one made it. NRK is proud to present the next Norwegian representative:
RUBEN • "BURN DOWN THIS ROOM" Not one, not two, not three, not four but five times. Ruben finally managed to win the 30th edition of DNS with his song "Burn Down This Room" getting 331 points, breaking the record of most 12s received by a entry and biggest margin from the second place in the history of the national selection.
The Norwegian village of Bjarkøy doesn’t look like the kind of place a major musician with 170 million+ streams and a Norwegian Grammy for Song of the Year ("Lay By Me") would earn his stripes, but music – in some way – has been in pop star Ruben’s blood right from his small town beginnings.
A choir kid through childhood who’s real exposure to the music he makes now came via hours spent online, Ruben is the product of his generation: an introspective songwriter with a knowledge of music formed by the internet. At 14, he started making diaristic and emotional pop music, but it would take him 8 years of toiling at his craft for him to write the lyrics for the track that would make him, “Walls”. It was an uncomfortable process at first, but Ruben is learning how to put everything he’s got into his lyrics. He is “starting to realise that I should be doing what I’ve always done. It could never be wrong if it came from my core. It’s saved me. I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on why I am the way I am, and how I can be a better person.”
Participating in North Vision Song Contest has always been one of his biggest dreams, showcasing his music to the whole of Europe and not only. It took him five attemps, a 4th, a 7th and a 2nd place twice but "Burn Down This Room" was the song that most convinced the juries.
Written by Cato Sundberg, Kent Sundberg, Lasse Michelsen and Ruben himself - Norway's official entry for North Vision Song Contest 33.
