first of all: thank you all for voting for me! I didn’t expect much since this was such a good semi so seeing y’all appreciate my entry means even more than usual. The qualifiers were all good songs, not a single song I don’t like or even outright hated, that’s gotta be a first. Still there’s some high key robberies:  What a beautiful song! It’s so touching and my favorite of the entire edition, so I’m extremely bummed to see it not even make it into the final (especially since now I have to fear for it to be a bottom 5 song)  this edition was supposed to be the one where the Baltics reunite in the final!!! I can’t believe to see this out, it’s such an extremely good song, very fun and danceable, no idea how it didn’t click with the voters here Some thoughts on other NQs:  man Toby has to be cursed at this point, I thought this was a safe qualifier, really great song  good song, definitely wouldn’t have minded this as qualifier either - in fact I actually expected it in so color me surprised  really enjoyable song, sad to see it not qualify |

oprah!! me and agni haven't been having the best time at nvsc recently (with 16th in the semi final and then failing in the pqr) so it's really nice to see  back in the final. thank y'all so much for supporting bríet  I'm very happy the song was appreciated since I've wanted to send BRÍET for some time now. I won't comment much on the qualifiers, except that most of them were expected :oop: but some thoughts on the non-qualifiers:  A very unique entry and I enjoyed it. Sadly though this was rather expected in this semi-final.  this was also nice but again expected. pr it wasn't bad but wasn't among my faves I'm quite surprised with this one - putting the amazing RV aside this song was very good, shocked to see it fail my fav Andorran entry recently, its sad to see this out, I thought it was a safe qualifier although not one of my faves the song is beautiful. however it was also expected  I liked this, but never saw it qualifying. better luck next edition! good song as well, underrated  wasn't a fan, sorry. hopefully you can qualify soon though  naur naur this isn't fair - my 2nd fave of this semi being snubbed like that!! I wish this would've qualified, it's a unique song in this semi and I actually did think it had a chance given the good reactions to it recently. A shame, but keep on snapping with Tunisia! well that was a great show and I'm so happy to be back, no matter how Bríet scores in the final. thank you once again and good luck to everyone in semi final 2!!  |

 expected but YESSS welcome back to the final, very much deserved  was worried this wouldn't make it, very glad it did good song good Q x  boppppp i had a feeling this would make it, deserved, welcome back xo  good song  good song good Q x  not a fan of this at all but so happy for Domas, welcome back!!  wouldn't have picked this to Q myself but it's fine  bop glad it made it through  good song good Q x didn't really do it for me and not a shocking NQ cute bop but not a surprise either pr cute but got lost for me not really a fan of this either and even though it was qualifying in the odds I'm not surprised at all that it didn't again I was moreso surprised that this was so high in the odds but this was a really nice song, wouldn't have minded it qualifying  NAUR this really deserved to be in the final  not a shock to me cute but got lost for me not for me  NAURR this was so robbed, an iconic piece that should've seen the final Not terrible results overall, see y'all for semi 2 xo |

Three editions and I can now tick off "fail to qualify" from the NVSC bucket list! I’m absolutely fine with not qualifying – I knew sending "Rabbi" was a risk that was far more likely to backfire spectacularly than pay off, and I sent it out of curiosity more than anything. I can't say that I didn't see the NQ coming, and I still got to send a song I like, which was all I really aimed to do, even if the other, 'safer' song I submitted and didn’t choose would have almost certainly been a better choice in the end. Will probably be in the PQR next edition (and probably came last in the semi lmao) but oh well, somebody has to be. Nonetheless, thank you if you did enjoy "Rabbi" enough to vote for Lebanon As much as it has grown on me since the PQR, I'm still not a huge fan. Clearly other people liked it enough though, so congrats! This was obviously going to qualify; such an emotive and impactful entry and totally deserved. I suspect it'll do just as well in the final.  Another obvious qualifier and a really good pop song, so no complaints is it coming fifth though YES. San Marino has been going from strength to strength recently and I'm glad I can fully get behind their song this edition, a banger   Another expected qualifier and such a gorgeous, charming entry to listen to; glad it made it A WHOPPER, a big fan of this and the burst of energy it brings (plus it's great to see Hungary back in the final after so long). Congrats! Although "Helvetti jäätyy" is a fairly 'normal' Finnish pop song, for some reason I really love it. Wasn't certain it would qualify but I'm VERY happy it did! A bop Another entry I'm happy to see in the final! Not among my absolute favourites but I still really like it, plus its qualification is especially deserved given all your effort with Azerbaijan. Congrats, Domas! I thought this was a certain qualifier but I was starting to get a little worried. Glad to see I was right – truly a lovely song and the Icelandic language makes it even better. Another one I was getting worried about; I thought it would either be this or Tunisia for the last spot and it turned out to be the former. Definitely B&H's best entry in a while, a BANGER which 100% deserved to qualify. Welcome back ------ Balkan pop really isn't my thing but actually I REALLY liked "Izvini". Sad to see it out, but I'm not very surprised either. </3 Another really lovely entry with such a strong message (especially on the eve of the anniversary of last year's election) which I wanted to give more points to. Thought it might make it, but as the spots filled up I realised that was unlikely to happen </3 I enjoyed this far more in full and thought it had a chance of qualifying. Not one of my outright favourites, but wouldn't have minded seeing it qualify either. Underrated. Wanted to give it more points than I could, and thought it had a decent chance of qualifying, but sadly it wasn't to be. Should escape the PQR, at least. </3  This was such a beautiful entry with a lovely, melancholy feel; I wanted to give it more points than I did. Definitely doesn't deserve to PQR. An expected NQ, sadly. This just wasn't for me – better luck next edition Not a bad song and I quite liked it, but it was weaker than Latvia's last two entries in my opinion, so I'm not surprised by its result. Lowkey a guilty pleasure but this type of drop-heavy EDM song was totally the wrong choice for the NVSC participant base. I hope you'll finally qualify soon I must admit that this wasn't for me, but I really appreciated its uniqueness and thought it was going to qualify. Not to my tastes, but disappointed for that reason all the same. Hope you'll qualify soon Overall, all my favourites made it so I'm really happy with the qualifiers, but I wanted to see like fifteen songs in the final so some were going to have to miss out, sadly. </3 Congratulations to all the qualifiers who evidently deserved to make it and best of luck to you all in the final! bring on semi two! |
