After a thrilling Top 10 finish of Aisel in Bologna, it seemed that there were zero doubts about no changes in the Azerbaijani delegation, however, earlier on today it was decided that the current Head of Delegation, who has been assisting the country since the thirtieth edition, will step down from the Azerbaijani team. 

His journey in the contest began by coming pre-last in the Pre-Qualification round with "Beautiful Human" by Elyar. However, this result was quickly forgotten after Narmeen brought the HoD country's first qualification in years and earned 19th place in the final. The thirty-third edition marked a remarkable moment in the Azerbaijani participating era, when Sima Nasirova finished 11th in the semi-final, narrowly missing the qualification zone. After many failures it was the thirty-sixth edition that brought a lot of joy to the delegation, since Aisel landed on the 10th place in the final, making it the first Top 10 appearance for the country since #18 edition.

Honestly, having Azerbaijan in the contest was one of the best things that could have happened despite me feeling really devastated when I realized that this is the country I'll be dealing with for at least 3 editions. Discovering the culture and music scene of this Caucasus hidden gem was really an experience and I'm glad I had it. It was really interesting getting to the depths of this particularly small, but also diverse, music sphere. I'm not going to lie: some of the moments were really breaking all of my motivation to participate in the contest (such as 4 NQs in a row) BUT the thing I enjoyed seeing the most was any of YOU adding the songs to playlists, enjoying them or sending me a screenshot of the song being played on Spotify and writing "a banger".. Moments like these were the sweetest, it really made me feel that my research didn't go for nothing. That's why I'd like to thank everyone who more or less supported Azerbaijan all these editions! Ending my Azerbaijani era with a Top 10 finish was the thing I least expected to, but BITCHHH, I'm living! Thank you SO SO MUCH and best of luck to the next Azerbaijani delegation! Make me proud!

LRT announces the new Head of Delegation!

After releasing a statement earlier on today, that the previous head of delegation is resigning, it took no more than few hours for the new head of delegation to be selected. It was none other than Dominykas, who served as the Azerbaijani head of delegation from the thirtieth to thirty-sixth edition. 

It was confirmed that Lithuania will participate in the North Vision Song Contest 37 in Sweden and will host a national selection for the first time since the thirty-first edition. "Lietuvos Garsai" or "The Lithuanian Sounds" in English will be a new-concept national selection, consisting of 10 entries, 3 of which will qualify for the super final where the winner will be decided.

When asked about the logo of the new national selection, the Head of Delegation explained: "It is possible to see of the differently highlighted letters in the name, because we wanted the logo to represent different groups of people that live or have influence for the Lithuanian culture. The L puts a spotlight on the LGBTQ+ people that are fighting for the equal rights not only here in the country but also all around the globe. The I represents the Samogitian letter ī and the ethnical minorities among the Lithuanian land. The letter was chosen to be red to also include the Belarusian pro-democratic flag and show the support. The E includes the Latvian letter ē, which reminds of the strong bond two countries make, enabling the Baltic region being heard in the whole world. The V includes the Russian в, which shows support for the Russians living within the country and also illustrates the importance of the Russian culture and history in the country. The O includes ó from the Polish alphabet, remarking the significance of Polish diaspora in the country and mission to continue close relations of two countries. Lastly from the letters, another A includes å from the Swedish alphabet, showcasing the Nordic and Viking importance in the region ages ago. There are two more symbols in the logo, one of them being the national coat of arms Vytis, representing the strength of the country in all of the hardest historic situations. The other one is a little arrow between the letters u and g, portraying the economical and cultural shift to the Western Europe and European Union."

Several Lithuanian cities have already expressed their interest in hosting the first ever edition of Lietuvos garsai. 



The chosen city and host venue as well as the competing entries are expected to be revealed in early October.

SLOVAKIA CONFIRMS IN NORTHVIISON SONG CONTEST #37 IN SWEDEN

Despite a non-qualification last two editions and almost making it through both times, Slovakia is not backing down but sadly for some, our national selection streak is slowing down for now. We are announcing "the internal selection process" where our own delegation will select the next act for the contest. We believe this way we have more freedom of selecting the perfect song who we believe will crack the Grand Final. 

We are also very much open to suggestions, so if anyone have any artist (or song) they would like us  to see us send, you can PM anyone from  delegation via forums or discord, as well as Northvision Suggestion thread. We are gonna work hard to bring out the best possible candidate for Sweden.

Serbia confirms participation in North Vision Song Contest #37

After very narrowly dodging the pre-qualification round, RTS has announced that Serbia will participate in North Vision Song Contest #37

Another edition of BMGP will be held. The format has not been finalised yet, but the judging panel is unlikely to return due to a lack of interest.

UPDATE 15/9/21:
RTS is ready to unveil the format for our next national selection

12 songs will compete. There will be two semi-finals with 6 songs each. Voting will be open to everyone and they can vote for up to 2 songs. The three songs to gain the most votes will qualify to the final. Each semi-final will last 10 days.

The final will also have 6 songs. The format will be the same as the semis except the voting will only be open to (Co-)HoD's. Voting will last until shortly before the deadline. The winner will represent Serbia in North Vision Song Contest 37

Georgia will participate in the 37th edition in Sweden!

Tbilisi, 13th September: The GPB, Georgian Public Broadcasting, has confirmed that Georgia will be competing in the 37th edition of the North Vision Song Contest. 

Despite a rather low placement in the final, we are nonetheless very satisfied with our qualification to the final. Due to the success the format has brought us so far, we are glad to announce that Sheni Archevani! is returning for another edition. No big changes are expected to be made in the format of the selection, however rumours say that the amount of participants will be lowered to 7, differing from last edition's 10. 

We are open to song suggestions! If you have any suggestions for the public broadcaster, either submit them via private message on the forums or on Discord.

The Head of Delegation said: ''We can confirm our presence at NVSC party''
After the AQ place in 36th and the qualification to the grand final in 35th edition, the NVSC delegation are pleased to announce that there will be an Albanian act in NVSC.

Today the Albanian team announced that the confirmation for an Albanian entry is open. The registrations reach a new record here in Albania. Internal selection will be held. For more information stay tuned.

WE LOVE FAKE NEWS, DON’T WE?
Following the rumors and the announcement that Ireland will not compete in the upcoming edition of North Vision Song Contes where the country is set to compete in the PQR, today the head of the delegation held a press conference at the RTÉ headquarters where he officially confirmed country’s presence in the next edition to be held in Sweden. Despite the country never failed to qualify from the pre-qualification round, it was decided that no matter what happens, the country will in indeed compete with other nations, whether it will be on the arena in Sweden or somewhere else in Europe. It was announced that Éire Festival will have a one edition break. Instead, the entry will be selected internally by the broadcaster and its highly expected that an artist who has previously competed in ÉF was already contacted and she accepted the challenge. The entry will be announced in due time.

Latvia confirms, despite forced Pre-Qualification participation

Despite a disappointing 18th place in the Semi-Final with AUTOGRAPHIC and Pacific, the Baltic country will be participating in the next edition of the contest, to hopefully be one of the countries that will qualify from the Pre-Qualification round, which would be a first for Latvia. And hopefully also gets to return in the final.

Despite the original disapproval from the Head of Delegation, and the sponsor Coca-Cola being cautious to potentially finance a Pre-Qualification Round failure, all sides were able to agree that all that mattered was the song. And the baltic state will afterall be taking the risk to take part in the PQR.

"Obviously, due to the short time we are given, we won't be hosting a National Selection, meaning that an Internal Selection will be held to pick our entry, we are likely going back to the way we have picked Obscurity ( #34) and Loti Dikti ( #35), with asking feedback from people across Europe and Australia for the potential Latvian entry."

The entry is expected to be revealed in October 2021.
