My top 12 of Eurovision France: C'est vous qui décidez 20221. Pauline Chagne - Nuit Pauline
First of all, let me say that I really dislike it a lot when artist and song title are the same - or nearly the same. In this case Pauline manages to minimize that with a very good song and a beautiful voice. Her entry has cool poppy vibes, sounds very catchy and modern, yet has a strong 80s vibe to it. Btw. it kept reminding me of something from that time lol and I believe it's Gazebo - I like Chopin. 2. Joanna - Navigateure
This is also a modern pop song sang by a girl with a beautiful voice. 3. Soa - Seule
It's starting off really weak imo. In fact I was at first like "How is this supposed to win?". However it then evolved well and turned into a good and modern song. The only thing in the rhythm is that moment they're singing "place", if you know what I mean. 4. Joan - Madame
This is an interesting song with a heavy retro vibe to it, which I like. Also the instrumentation is somewhat intriguing. 5. Julia - Chut
This is another good song with a fitting retro sound. Also Julia's voice sounds quite pleasing to me. 6. Saam - Il est où?
This is another catchy entry, but in a different way. I mean, Claudio Capéo much? I may like this song, but its lyrics include too much "oooooh". 7. Elliott - La tempête
First, of all is this La Roux? He has an interesting voice, that I believe could get annoying. Song-wise it's not a bad entry, but still somewhat meh! 8. Hélène in Paris - Paris mon amour
Oh, this is a creative song. Quite jazzy - which is something I don't think to have heard a lot this season so far - and I hear quite a bunch of references to earlier decades and musical pieces from there. I believe those "old" vibes may also be a bit too much of Barbara's influence to make Hélène win. On the downside, this song is absolutely never-ending and I had to stop after what felt like 10 minutes, but was only 80 seconds ... :/ Oh, and btw. is she old or young? Her voice sounds relatively young, but that doesn't fit to what she looks like to me. 9. Elia - Téléphone
It's not an essentially bad entry and she's got a good singing voice. However it's never-ending ... 10. Marius - Les chansons d'amour
It's starting off quietly and evolves into an a bit more powerful ballad. Especially the quiet part suits his voice quite good. It's also a pretty ballad and I was originally going to place it high in my top. However I got busy with something else I was doing alongside this NS and so I had time to think about it for a while. And I've come to the conclusion that this is an absolute sleeping pill ... 11. Alvan & Ahez - Fulenn
An interesting and modern sounding entry with lots of traditional sounding elements. However I'm not too much of a fan because it happens to sound awfully lot like songs that are included in random DJ mixes where no one ever cared about the actual song ... 12. Cyprien Zeni - Ma famille
What an empty entry ... And a good voice wasted over a highly annoying beat. I, originally, expected this to be some R'n'B ballad - that I believe would've been a lot better, but yeah sadly it's not. I was listening the songs in alphabetical order according to Eurovisionworld. And as you can see the first half has quite disappointed me for being boring and lengthy. Also there are a lot of (= too many) songs with Retro sounds that I guess is partly also Barbara's influence?

Spotify played this just yesterday when I haven't heard it in a long time. My thoughts were exactly the same as what I had written above. However, in the meantime (aka 2 minutes ago, lol), I've seen it live, and that was really good and elevates it up to a for me. It's not the full yet because there's still something that bothers me. The song is not bad, and I can see it getting a lower top 10 in Turin. Btw. how is the song title being pronounced? And even more, what's the song about?

YES. YES. I LOVE IT. LIKE. A LOT. Just when you think you know what France is gonna send, this country turns our expectations on its head and gives us an ethnic electric Celtic banger. Kudos to France for showing appreciation for its regional languages, especially the juries since jury opinions tend to be a wild card. The staging is great, and I know it will be elevated in a much larger stage in Turin. The vocals are great. All the vocalists shine equally. The whole track is awesome and unique. I am rooting for France to do amazing once again this year.

This is clearly winning the forum poll for a reason… there’s just SO much to love and I didn’t expect an entry like this from France

Cool song and the staging is incredible (But now I have to cross "France singing in Breton" off my list of things that only happened in ESC 1996)
