Submissions for songs have opened on the 1st of September (it was the topic of the day on the radio). The planned process is to first get a song and afterwards look for a vocalist.
Like always there are no rumours around (at least no serious ones that I know of) and I guess the song will once again be released in March lol.

I'm particularly excited for Switzerland next year mainly because of what they want in a song -- triggering an emotional response. That fits really well to Chiara Dubey and I hope they select her next year. I have a bad feeling it could backfire as that could be them sending 3 ballads in a row so kinda feel Switzerland would opt for dancey joyful bop. Chiara Dubey appeared on the Swiss national final once but didn't do really well, but her artistry and style has grown a lot especially since the pandemic. Her recent single "Stranger" is powerful and if she can produce another powerful ballad with even better production, bigger impact and more accessible, I could see her winning the entire thing.

Okay so this is a difficult one to talk about ... First of all, I'm actually happy with the artist selection. Marius has been around for a few years now, but still didn't have his breakthrough - or at least I think so. In fact I can imagine 4 / 6 people that I work with not knowing him at all. Personally I've known about him for 4 years (?) now - which is basically the length he's been played on the radio. His usual releases are normally (normally because his recent stuff hasn't been it imo.) things that I like, yet there have been several cases in the past where I've used the word "boring" and that's also why I have not too many songs of his in my playlist. Boys do cry as a song is very Marius Bear, if you know what I mean. I like the song as a single by Marius, but in Eurovision ... Idk, but it feels quite misplaced here. That's also why I can't give it more than a at the moment. I hope it'll grow further on me, but even if it does I'm worried about his chances in the semi final with this song. Marius Bear making it to Eurovision is actually funny for me because I've already thought in like 2019 that if we can't do something more traditional (or just not English) why not go for an artist like him.

It's decently composed, but at this point, so many other sings outshine this by a mile. It has a lovely sentiment, but it's sonically too soft to capture my attention. It's a nice lullaby, but should a song really put me to sleep when I'm watching TV? I would not mind if Switzerland NQ'd this year. In fact, with the quality of songs I've heard so far, this is a clear NQ for me. It could potentially redeem with a good and memorable staging, but that's a long shot.

This was lovely. I think it could make an impact with some nice staging
