The 16th edition of Nordisk Melodi Grand Prix will be held in  Sotkamo, Finland, following the country's fifth victory during the last edition.
This is Finland's fourth time hosting the contest, and the second consecutive time as the previous edition was held in Finland.
The competition will take place at Katinkulta Areena having a capacity of 2000 spectators.
The hosts of the event will be YLEX's morning show hosts Ville "Viki" Eerikkilä and Juuso "Köpi" Kallio.

All Nordic and Baltic nations, as well as Scotland are invited to participate in the event!
The contest is scheduled to take place 17th January 2022.

Greenland is also able to participate.
Anyone wishing to participate for Greenland, please message me until Saturday, 8 January 2022!
Remember that only Greenlandic artists are able to participate for Greenland!

When you submit your entry, please remember, that the majority of the song has to be in another language than English!

After a one edition break, RÚV is delighted to confirm that Iceland will return to the Nordisk Melodi Grand Prix.

The withdrawal last edition was never explained. However, the HoD assured the nation that the country would participate regularly from now on.

The act will be selected soon.

Lithuania has made a quick choice!
Few moments ago, LRT Plius, which takes care of the Lithuanian journey in the Nordisk Melodi Grand Prix has
confirmed that the Baltic country will certainly participate in the competition. After evaluating multiple submissions
from the artists it was decided that Karina Ivanickytė will wave the Lithuanian flag in Sotkamo with her song
"Meilė Pakeis" ("Love Will Change").

Faroe Islands
Elin Brimheim Heinesen - "Sóleyan lýsir um fløtur"

The Faroe Islands have confirmed their participation in the upcoming NMGP, aswell as their representant.
Elin Brimheim Heinesen will represent the country with an orchestrated version of her father's poem "Sóleyan lýsir um fløtur" (Buttercups Light Up The Meadows).
