HOW THE NEW FORMAT WILL WORK?
Contestants of Pohjoisviisut 38 have been divided into three categories:
Automatic finalists: will qualify directly to the final
Regular category: will compete in the preliminary round together with breakthrough category
Breakthrough category: will compete in the preliminary round together with regular category, however at least one of them is guaranteed to qualify to the final.
PRELIMINARY ROUND:
A total of 10 songs compete in the preliminary round (4 from breakthrough category and 6 from regular category). Five songs will qualify for the final. One of those places is reserved for the breakthrough category to make sure at least one of the songs from that category will qualify for the final.
Voting of the preliminary round will be 100% televoting.
THE GRAND FINAL
A total of 10 songs will compete in the Grand Final (5 from automatic finalists and 5 from preliminary round). The voting method will be 50/50 (Juries & Televoting). The top 3 of the Grand Final will advance to the Super Final.
SUPER FINAL
The top three of the Grand Final will fight for the victory of Pohjoisviisut and the right to represent Finland at North Vision Song Contest. Voting of the Super Final will be 100% televoting with voters choosing their favorite out of the remaining songs.
Should there be a tie, the song that got most of the points in the grand final will win the tie-break.
You can apply for a jury spot later in the voting form during the preliminary round (only (co-)HoD's are allowed to apply).
