Before I get to the finalists, let me briefly comment on some of the non-qualifiers.
I'm surprised this didn't place last.
Clearly, the RotW voters have taste. They gave you their 10 points! You deserved to qualify.
Sinny, shame on you for destroying our chance for our first ever nil points in NNMC history. Valkory was set to become the floppiest of flops, but you took that destiny away from them. It doesn't even beat the all-time low score of 2 points because you frickin' gave it 10!
So robbed.
Whaaaat? This did not deserve to flop that bad.
So close.
16th is just not the result it deserves. It should be higher.
OMG. Another song loved by the RotW (10 points), but didn't qualify in the end.
The way both of you NQ'd by one point is gut-wrenching. Either of you would've been worthy of being in the final over Estonia tbh.
Yeah... this didn't leave much of an impression. It's cool that it's in Norwegian at least.
I feel like I'm partly to blame for this result since I put this song first in the running order. The song is not that bad.
Honestly, this should've placed last. For a club track, it's so underwhelming. It isn't final-worthy in my opinion.
After AQ-ing twice in a row, I care less about my result this time. I knew this was gonna flop, but I appreciate the three 12's I got. Thanks!
Thought it would do better tbh, but here we are. All the AQ's in the bottom 5.
I expected better for a song that was 3rd in its semi. For me, this ultimately failed to stand out among the finalists, but being a finalist in itself is an achievement.
Another song I thought would do better. It's alright I guess.
A bop that I'm shocked did not get more points, especially since you placed 2nd in your semi!
My . This was underrated throughout the edition. I enjoyed the ethnic vibes here more than the typical Turkish pop track.
Underwhelmed. It's fine, but not outstanding.
For a typical Greek pop song, I'm surprised it placed this low. It's okay for me.
So close to my personal top 10. Would've loved to have seen this finish higher, but this is a great showing for Tajikistan's first ever Grand Final appearance!
Another cool Central Asian bop. I wouldn't say it was a contender, but it's quality nonetheless.
Their other song was so much more iconic. This kinda fell flat in relation, but it still bangs. I'm a bit of a sucker for drum and bass.
In this final, very middle of the road. Not bad, not great.
I honestly thought this would do much worse, considering you narrowly qualified from the semi by 1 point. However, this means all the Baltic states are in the top half of the final, so collectively, that's a great feat for the region.
Canada has been delivering good quality songs every edition so far this year. This is no exception, but I do think this is the weakest one so far.
Still shook Sevdaliza has a song like this, but it's still very awesome and the result is deserved.
I don't get the hype. Literally the songs from the other Turkic nations this edition are far, far better. This, to me, is inferior musically. Still, I will always admire a good result for Turkmenistan.
So catchy. It makes me wanna dance! I would've been okay with this being in the Top 10.
Literally I'm so happy with this entire Top 10. All the songs here either got points or were very close to getting points from me. <333
My . It's literally been two years since USA achieved a result this good, and I'm happy it's with this song. I think this is a step in the right direction. Please continue to deliver like this.
Another song that was incredibly close to getting points from me. This song resonated with me in a way that other soca songs couldn't. I felt the island vibe, so I'm happy it did so well.
My . So happy Poland landed in such a high spot. One of the best duets I've had the pleasure of listening to for a contest. <333
My . I know a banger when I hear one, and clearly, so did a lot of other people. This is powerful and cool. <333
My . When I saw the artists, I thought I would easily dismiss this, but no. The production was on point, especially that drop. I vibed with it a lot.
My . Another great Brazilian banger for the books. Brazil always delivers in the banger department, and I always live. Keep it up. <333
My . One of the most intense Lithuanian songs I've ever heard, and it paid off! 4th place is a great position for such an original piece of music. Congrats! <333
Oh, this Top 3... Oh my God. This is one of the best Top 3's I've ever seen. All are iconic, legendary, and winner-worthy. <333 You know what makes these three special? They are exceptional examples of powerful songs with a strong message, flawless instrumentation, and a strong presentation. All three also have a distinct musical identity unique to their region.
My !!! Ukraineofcourse, you had the nerve to send this song. I knew about this song since it came out, but I didn't think it would make its contest debut in NNMC. The exquisite and elegant electronic beat, the message of female empowerment, the unique presentation of the song through its music video. It all came together seamlessly. I dare say it's become an all-time favorite of mine. Congratulations!
My ! I would have been over the moon if this or Pakistan had won since these two are countries that have never won before, but it is what it is. Even though I don't speak the language of this song, I felt the impact, the emotion, and the call to action. You really brought it this month, so a big congratulations to you, Jose! <333
My ! It was almost my 8 points, meaning it was that hard to make up my mind of my overall top. This is the perfect song to represent Ukraine today. I recognize the symbolism and the message, and the production amplifies that message ten-fold in an epic ethno-folk banger that is Ukrainian to the core. Kevin, how does it feel to win a third time with Ukraine, and give Ukraine its 5th win ever? Congratulations!
With Ukraine winning NNMC at this day and age, this is a great opportunity for us to raise awareness about the ongoing crisis in the country. Click here to help fund the Ukrainian Armed Forces. I'm sure that any money they raise will be put to good use.
