I will take 13th in the semi given it's quite difficult to find a strictly local banger for Equatorial Guinea. Thanks to Hayastantzi92 for giving us 10 points and macio for 8 points. Poor eSwatini NQing with such a high score. Also losing Cape Verde and Seychelles too.

Mauritania, CAR and Somalia are robbed in SF2. CAR definitely does not deserve a QF position obviously. This is definitely not a bad effort so please don't blame yourself for this result.

Mali should have won outright imo. Very well-produced and the style is fantastic. It was very close to be added to my routine chart ranking. Congratulations to Egypt on the 3rd place. I genuinely enjoyed the song. DR Congo is so robbed given this stands out really well and the instrumentation elevates the song a lot. Morocco is also robbed of an AQ spot as it sounds very different and ethnic. Huge congratulations to Malawi. The motifs are really strong and the choice of instrumentation is pretty sound. The mixing killed the song however which heavily prevented me from enjoying it fully. I wonder how good it sounds at the hands of a good producer.

Firstly before I comment my thoughts, this edition and it’s theme is probably the best decision that could have been made. This edition was INCREDIBLE and I think a lot of us really enjoyed discovering some new artists. I really hope editions like this will be frequent! Thank you Chante and the rest of the council for this amazing edition!

Now for my thoughts…

maybe the rv ruined this song’s chances? Anyway a lot of these songs grew on me after I voted, and this was one of the ones I liked the most while voting
expected, but at least we got two Eritrean native singers in the final 
never thought it would be this low, but in this final, it was weak
ROBBERY, this was one of the best songs in the final… and no Chante I didn’t send this  
I can’t decide my opinions about this, like, it’s okay yet really intriguing, but at the same time I don’t want to hear more 
it wasn’t competitive enough in this final, kinda overrated oop
saw this coming, but for a host entry, this was very good
I’m glad you did better than you expected, this was good
I found this quite average but also thought it would do better 
I thought this too weird and out there (and I normally like songs like that) but I still thought this would do better 
I did forget about this, but this is still a good result
Really appreciate the message and it’s good to have a spoken word song, but just based on the song alone I feel like this should be lower, even if I did vote for it

I really thought this would be in the top 10, with the potential of being in the top 6
something about the recap slot and the drop just seemed strange to me. Like- it’s not bad it’s just- not good. Really grown off me 
wow… I have no words for this result. When I found this song I thought it would just be a cute entry that could maybe qualify and would just hopefully escape the quarterfinal, never did I think it would be so close to top 10. Thanks so much to every voter. I’m so happy I was able to beat my previous Own Contest best result ( Guaraná)

This never stood out to me before, but watching it today in the recap, I realise that it’s very good

Sorry but to me this was one of the weakest in this final…
I knew she’d be sent this edition lmao, but I’m glad this did so well. And it’s amazing that Benin finally did really well after so many flops
I feel guilty about this considering you gave me 12 but I thought this should have been last 😭 Im getting bored of the same two artists with mediocre songs continuing this qualification streak, congratulations for this great result though!

same as Egypt honestly, but I prefer this just a bit more 
Idk about this being the highest scoring entry ever in OAfSC, but I can’t deny it was my favourite of this final and I’m SO glad it won! See you in Malawi! 


Rwanda and Libya probably wouldn’t get points from me now, and I’d probably give them to Egypt and Réunion. Also I’d give higher points to Tanzania

9th! That's one of my best results here, so thanks so so much I couldn't believe it honestly, I honestly only sent Latifa because I thought she would fail in the semis with that song (+ she's a queen and so iconic) but I think I would've been proven wrong. Getting 9th without a single set of 12 too is very impressive.

Thanks to my sisters flagnigeria for their high points and everyone else who spared a point for miss latifa.

being honest, I won't do a full reaction since some of these songs I really don't have an opinion on. but some thoughts:

It's interesting seeing an obscure country like Malawi win. Well done. Definitely not a winner for me but that margin seemed convincing.

Congrats on this result! I did enjoy the song.

when was out, I was rooting for Egypt to win Nevertheless it's well deserved and good to see Egypt doing well just like her other North African sisters

even if I voted for it, I can't help but think it's slightly forced result-wise. But congrats anyway, Djibouti is tricky and it's interesting to see them this high.

I thought this would win. It would've been a worthy winner too. Well done.

Most of my points ended up doing reasonably well so I can't really think of many underrated countries.. maybe and (is : bebe : coming? xx)

I'm honestly not the biggest fan of the song, with the mixing being the main issue, but I see the appeal with this track, and it HITS at times. It does deserve the win though. Congrats on winning with a pretty obscure country!
So fun, and I love a lot of elements of this track. Congrats on the silver medal!
Same thing I said about Tanzania applies here. Love the flavor this song exudes. Great job on 3rd!

Here we go again, this time with the little nation of blue, green and the red star. I wanted to come back to this Own contest due to how high-quality it has gotten but taking amongst the free nations at the time, I felt kinda scared to do so. However, Chante gave me some inspiration to try with this nation, and I gotta say, I have to thank Chante first for suggesting me "Quand Je Veux Je Peux", so I took it, sent it and the rest was history.
Thank you so much for bringing this rather obscure nation to a really good fourth, with special mentions to for the and for the . Thank you also for having Djibouti win its semi, which is a first for both me and the nation.
I feel a little pressured to keep its rather small yet perfect Q streak, but I feel we're ready to see a new side of this nation by the next edition (which hint: expect an actual native). Thank you all once again!

All the hype persuaded me to think you would take the crown, and for good reason: it's a B.O.P. Congrats on bringing success for this lovely nation!

This kind of EDM always gets me for some reason. Maybe a little too high for this song, but I did enjoy it.

This song felt so right listening at full, like a proper party without the mess. I was actually stuck between this, I bamba and Fresh for the 12, and after the full listen, this stuck to me the most.

This is what happens when you take a different approach to music and WORK with it. Result: a pretty good spot on the final AND a bop worth playing over and over.
Pretty good placement for a song that speaks out on real social issues.

Pretty forgettable, sad it had to be last overall though.
You tell me this got second-to-last OVERALL. How? This is a HIT, I know that, and it's way better than many songs in semi 1. It should have qualified, or at least escape the PQR zone next edition. Mozambique, you were really robbed.
Third-to-last overall, huh......flashbacks to me using SL and getting that same placement in edition 5.....anyways, it had some fans, but it was never gonna perform well here.
Didn't leave any impact. Expected.
Light banger for sure. Maybe should have gotten a little higher on the semi ranking, but even though I vibe with this, PQR was just calling their name.
How did this PQR? I actually thought it would do way better than that. Robbery.
