KURA FEST #01
At a press conference today, the two Caucasian broadcasters of
AzTV and 
GPB have officially announced a co-production of the brand new music festival named Kura Fest. It was also revealed that the competition will serve as a national selection for the North Vision Song Contest for both countries. The Kura (Mtkvari) is an east-flowing river south of the Greater Caucasus Mountains which drains the southern slopes of the Greater Caucasus east into the Caspian Sea. It also drains the north side of the Lesser Caucasus while its main tributary, the Aras, drains the south side of those mountains. It flows through Georgia and to Azerbaijan, where it receives the Aras as a right tributary, and enters the Caspian Sea at Neftçala.
For the inaugural edition, 8 acts from
Azerbaijan and 7 acts from Georgia are taking part with two nation-based semi-finals set to take place before the grand final, when the highest-scoring entry from each state will receive the right to perform at the upcoming edition of the NVSC in 
Greece. The 15 competing singers and their songs will be gradually revealed later today.
