It's EDEN for Ireland! RTÉ is proud to reveal that EDEN will represent Ireland in the upcoming edition of the North Vision Song Contest, to be held in Lisbon, Portugal. Jonathon Ng, known professionally as Eden (stylised as EDEN), is an Irish musician, singer, songwriter, record producer, and occasional model. Born on 23 December 1995 to an Irish mother and a Hong Kong father, he formerly operated as The Spab Project and later The Eden Project, an alias that was discontinued in 2015. Ng released six EPs and over 70 songs and remixes as The Eden Project. As EDEN, he launched his own record label, MCMXCV, on which his debut EP End Credits was released. His second EP, I Think You Think Too Much of Me, was released in August 2016, debuting at No. 43 on the Irish Albums Chart as his first charting music. EDEN's debut studio album Vertigo was released on 19 January 2018 and was supported by a world tour. IT'S AYLIVA FOR GERMANY! Cologne, 11 November 2023 Just as the carnival season is kicking off in Cologne, the city hosted the comeback edition of Unser Song für NVSC, in which Ayliva and her song "Schwarzes Herz" (Black Heart) were chosen to represent Germany in NVSC 42!
Ayliva is a 25 year old German-Turkish singer from Recklinghausen. Having released music since 2020, she became one of the most promising newcomers in the German music industry in recent years. After previously taking part in USF39 with her song "Bei Nacht" when she was still relatively unknown, she quickly exploded in popularity. Her sophomore album "Schwarzes Herz" (with the eponymous song and NVSC entry being the album's closing track) became her first Nr. 1 album in the DACH region. In 2023, she also scored two #1 hits on the German charts, "Sie weiß" and "Hässlich".
With all that success giving her momentum, she returned to USF after 3 editions and scored a landslide victory by winning the juries (of which 6/10 gave her the maximum points) as well as the Televoting, meaning that "Schwarzes Herz" became the first German-language song to win the USF Televoting! The song is a captivating pop-ballad, showcasing Ayliva's vocal talent as well as a lush, orchestral instrumentation. We wish her the best of luck in Lisbon!

Post-punk band PAHOR will represent Bosnia & Herzegovina in the grand final of North Vision Song Contest #42!
Above: Pictures with the band PAHOR
Official announcement from BHRTBHRT officially announced that a new approach was taken by the broadcaster in the upcoming edition of North Vision Song Contest. The next artists to represent Bosnia & Herzegovina in North Vision Song Contest #42 will be the new-coming band PAHOR, who has been internally selected to represent the country in the grand final of the competition. After the previous successful results of the country, there have been lots of submissions to the broadcaster, many big artists expressing their interest in representing Bosnia & Herzegovina. However, BHRT decided to choose, through a competitive internal selection processs, something different, in order to highlight the diversity and especially the originality of the Bosnian music scene in such a contest, because originality is, first of all, the main principle of the Bosnian delegation in the contest.
Who are PAHOR?PAHOR is a post-punk and rave-punk band from Mostar, Bosnia & Herzegovina, formed of three young artists, Boris Pehar, Jurica Šimunović and Mario Šimunović. They are new to BHRT, as they never competed in any Bosnian national selection or any internal selection process before. All these biographical details mentioned are the only ones provided by the band, highlighting them as a more mysterious band. They released their single album in 2022, consisting of 10 songs, from which the official entry for North Vision Song Contest #42 was selected. The band is also described to create music of various genres, apart from post-punk and rave-punk, a combination of genres such as: synthpop, synthpunk, gothic rock, darkwave, rave, techno. They describe themselves through the slogan Novi zvuk u gradu, meaning New sound in town. Their sound is similar to popular bands such as Molchat Doma, Joy Division, Bauhaus, French Police and other classic and recent darkwave bands.
The official entryPAHOR will perform one of their singles from the album Bezdan, the song Krug (Eng. Circle), a different type of song than previous Bosnian attempts in the competition. The song doesn't have many lyrics, but it describes the circularity of life and everyday existence, repeating the same "circle" or "circuit" daily. It also highlights the desire of better love of a couple (references to "us", "we") and future aspirations: I wanted better mornings for us/ We were waiting for the golden dawn/ I wanted that gloomy sky/ Calm your dreams back/ I wanted us to do better tomorrow/ We danced until dawn/ I wanted to see the light/ Fatigue takes all that is mine/ And you and me/ You and I both lose our breath/ And you and me/ And you and me/ Same circle every day/ Same circle tired/ Same circle every day. We wish PAHOR the best of luck in the upcoming edition of the contest and we hope you appreciate the diversity Bosnia & Herzegovina brings in this edition! Učinite Bosnu i Hercegovinu ponosnom!

Tunisia reveals entry!
After an intense competition, the second-ever Maghrebi Music Fest, which selected the Northvision entries for Tunisia, Egypt, and Morocco, has come to a conclusion. And with it, the Tunisian entrant has finally been found. You can now see who has won and will represent Tunisia without further ado below.
They are Noor and Selim Arjoun!
Noor Arjoun and Selim Arjoun are a brother-sister musical duo from Tunisia.
The duo commenced their collaborative musical journey in 2017, initially as integral contributors to the "Tunisia88" social program dedicated to nurturing young musical talent in Tunisia. Within the program, they played a pivotal role in its establishment, assisting the organization's formation and facilitating workshops in high schools throughout all 24 governorates of Tunisia. Furthermore, they toured nationwide, showcasing their musical prowess alongside ensembles of emerging young talents in various concerts.
Their true musical collaboration, however, began in 2020 amid the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. As the world came to a standstill and the Arjouns found themselves in lockdown, Selim took the initiative to construct a home studio to sustain their musical efforts. Swiftly delving into studio projects, he created, produced, and composed music for films and series. This period proved transformative for the duo, offering a unique opportunity to refine their craft and establish themselves as notable talents within the Tunisian music scene. Reflecting on this pivotal time, Noor Arjoun encapsulates it by stating, "Initially, navigating the challenges of the health crisis, especially the decline in live concerts, was not easy. However, it ultimately grounded us, allowing us to focus on structuring the project, refining our processes, and seizing the lockdown as an opportunity to collaboratively compose and produce music. Additionally, it provided us with the chance to enhance our presence on social networks, solidifying our name in the musical landscape."
During this period, Selim and Noor unveiled their inaugural single, "Trab." Crafted amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the song was a collaborative effort involving a diverse array of musicians hailing from all 24 governorates of Tunisia. This collaboration underscored their dedication to showcasing the vibrant musical diversity of the entire nation. Notably, the music video embarked on a tour across Tunisia, featuring over 40 artists, and was later selected as the theme song for the Tunisian drama series "Harga 2."
Building on their early musical triumphs, the duo reached a milestone in January 2022 with the release of their debut single, "Streams," which concurrently served as the soundtrack for the movie of the same name by Mehdi Hmili. Sung in the Tunisian dialect of Arabic, the song rapidly gained popularity in Tunisia, accumulating 2.5 million views. This success solidified the Arjouns' reputation as emerging and captivating musicians in the country. Subsequently, they continued to release a series of singles, each contributing significantly to the duo's ascent, and firmly establishing them as prominent figures in the vibrant Tunisian music scene.
Through their platform, the Arjouns embody not just musicianship but also activism, serving as catalysts for change. As mentors at the Tunisia88 organization, they contribute to a program that supports 590 student-led after-school music clubs. These clubs engage in yearly activities encompassing leadership training for social cohesion and creativity sessions, empowering students to compose original songs with their own lyrics, melodies, messages, and videos. In a country with a nascent music scene, these clubs play a vital role in promoting the diverse musical tapestry of Tunisia, providing unparalleled access to the wonders of music.
Beyond their musical endeavors, the Arjouns leverage their platform for humanitarian causes. During the protests in Tunisia against the incumbent Kais Saied, they vocalized their opposition to the authoritarian tendencies of his regime, particularly its mistreatment of African refugees. More recently, the Arjouns have directed their focus towards the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the West Bank. They assumed a leading role in releasing a joint statement with the wider Tunisian music community, denouncing the occupation of Palestinians and condemning the injustices perpetrated against them. In a show of solidarity, the Arjouns have also temporarily suspended their music releases.
Today, Noor and Selim Arjoun hold indispensable roles as trailblazers in the burgeoning Tunisian music scene. Beyond their familial bond, the brother and sister duo share a profound passion for music, forging a unique and dynamic musical prowess. Their songs, entirely in the Tunisian dialect, stand as a living embodiment of the Tunisian music scene. Beyond their musical contributions, the Arjouns, with their activist spirit and unwavering commitment to music, symbolize a new generation of Tunisian musicians. Proud of their heritage, they fearlessly use their voices, exemplifying a wave that Noor and Selim Arjoun proudly and beautifully lead.

In the second edition of the Maghrebi Music Fest, where entries hailed from Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia, Noor and Selim Arjoun proudly represented Tunisia. Alongside them, the Tunisian contingent featured Swiss-Tunisian artist Soraya Kstoini and Beirut-based singer Nour Kamar. The Tunisian artists entered the competition amid heightened external expectations, fueled by Tunisia's previous victory in the festival's last edition with Zeyne as the representative. This heightened anticipation led to a fierce competition among the Tunisian artists, resulting in all three of them securing positions in the top 4 of the entire competition.
Ultimately, the Arjouns emerged victorious among their peers, amassing a remarkable 208 points from various juries and international televoters. This secured their victory as it pertained to the Tunisian quota and placed them in an impressive 2nd position in the overall competition. As such, Selim and Noor Arjoun are now slated to represent Tunisia in the 42nd Northvision Song Contest in Portugal, with their song "Third Lung," a powerful love ballad in the Tunisian language.
For many, this appears to be the first time the two will take the stage at the Northvision contest. However, although this does mark the Arjouns' first time competing as a duo, Selim Arjoun has previously represented Tunisia in the 32nd edition of the Northvision Song Contest in Georgia as part of the musical collective Aytma, alongside singer Nour Harkati. Unfortunately, they did not advance to the grand final in that edition. This time, Selim, accompanied by his sister Noor, is aiming for better fortunes, hoping to build on Tunisia's recent unprecedented success in the contest.
We extend our best wishes for their success!
