Some days ago, Ellize, Konstantinos Argiros and LeeA were announced as the three potential artists to be the Greek representative. The Greek broadcaster ERT can now reveal our next hopeful artist who won the national selection NorthSong 0023 and will try their best to bring the Mediterranean country to Portugal. Meet the artist

Ellize is a Greek-German singer and performer, Ellize, started her involvement with music at the age of ten. Elizze is originated from in the Epirote municipality of Paramythia and had resided there until ten years after her birth. Due to the economic crisis that hit the nation, her family decided to move out to Germany. However, she eventually decided to return to Greece for the sake of music.

Drawing inspiration from a blend of hip-hop, soul, and R&B, Ellize finds influences from artists like Aaliyah, Jorja Smith, Lil’ Kim, Etta James, Shirin David, and others. She made her debut with the R&B single “86,” which garnered over half a million streams. A few months later, she was officially announced as part of OffBeat Records. A series of successful singles followed through in 2022 and 2023. Among them, the multiplatinum single “Lamborghini Weiss” (featuring Kidd) gained significant popularity. Other notable releases include “Aformi,” “Ti Zitas,” and “Ama Fygeis.” These songs further solidified Ellize’s success and expanded her fan base. Ellize is one of the few women in Greece's R&B industry and her major desire is to open up and for other local female artists to enter this field of music. With this exact reason, she decided to submit her song to ERT and applied for NorthSong.

On October 28, Ellize was announced as the next Greek representative in the continent-wide European music competition North Vision Song Contest. She will represent the country in the Pre-qualification round and hopefully, will be able to fly the Greek flag in portugal with her song “Ksenyxtas”.

Meet the entry

Ellize was declared the winner of the contest for the next Greek representative for the contest. They tied for the victory with another competitor LeeA with an amount of 14.5 votes. To determine the final winner, the second round of voting was introduced, and it was Ellize's 'Ksenyxtas' who triumphed it all.

Nicole Paparistodemou, also known as Nikki Lee, is a Greek-Cypriot singer, born in Sydney, Australia and raised between Sydney and Paphos, Cyprus whose star began to shine after her appearance in Greek Idol. She will represent Cyprus in the upcoming PQR with her song "Ti na se kano".

Following the conclusion of yet another an incredibly competitive national final, the artist that took the title of not just the Moroccan section, but of the national final as a whole is the soloist Salem Khazali, known mononymously by his surname. The twenty-six year old artist was born as the only child to a single mother from Casablanca, Naima, who raised him in Queens Park, London. The half-Moroccan-half-Sierra-Leonian artist was raised on his mother's music, and she encouraged his creativity, enrolling him in choir and violin classes. Despite that obvious lean into music, he actually has a degree in graphic design, and studying that allowed him to learn how to narrate his internal thoughts. The artist, who has been compared to fellow English-Sierra Leonians Sampha and Blood Orange, will fly the Moroccan flag in Portugal thanks to his song "Comfort." 

Khazali mentions that "Comfort" was "the last song I wrote for this volume of Going Home, and was heavily inspired by the beginning of the pandemic, and that feeling of hopelessness that I think we all felt. When I sing about ‘liquid borderlines to help us drown’ I thought about how what we were going through was washing away façades we’d built up, how we had to face our true selves and feelings." That project had been in the works for about five years up until the songs began to release. 

In an interview with 2M, Khazali said that representing Morocco at an international stage like this "is everything I could've ever hoped for and more. This was the third time I had submitted any of my songs to represent a nation, but the first time for Morocco. Around the releases of "Passion Controller" and "Comfort", I sent both in to the BBC, and both of them made the shortlist to compete in Your Decision, but nothing came up of that. To be able to have my song represent my mother's nation at this sort of level is a dream come true. I'm so excited to get to finally showcase my art at the highest of levels."

Ana Mena Rojas (born 25 February 1997) is a Spanish singer and actress. She began her career in 2009 in the TV series Marisol, la película (2009). In 2010, she participated in Disney's musical reality show My Camp Rock 2, ending up as the winner.Her musical career began in 2016, when she released her debut single "No Soy Como Tú Crees".

Tamino-Amir Moharam Fouad is an Egyptian-Belgian singer/songwriter based in Brussels. He states that his influences were The Beatles, Frederic Chopin, Eric Satie and classical arabic music, however thanks to his moodier style accompained by deep vocals, some could compare him to Rufus Wainwright or Matt Elliott. Tamino wrote "Cigar", our entry for the next NorthVision edition, after having seen Van Gogh's "Skull With Burning Cigarette". The painting inspired him to make a grand, depressive ballad about meaning of life, filled with abstract metaphors.

KLEIN. will represent Luxembourg with Episode!

In the previous edition, Luxembourg sent Irem with her song Nach e Schrëtt, which sadly failed to make it past the second semi-final. As a result, the selection committee at RTL decided to go the Rosa Linn route, which culminated in the selection of KLEIN. They vied to represent the country for the past two years before finally being chosen to compete in the upcoming Pre-Qualification Round. Vill Gléck!
