Give a Warm Welcome Back to ... MedinaCaption: Medina performing at promotional television show prior to her appearance in Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 30. After scraping through to the Super Final from the Grand Final in the All Stars 30th edition of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, the 41 year old Danish-Chilean super star, Medina, landslides her way through the Super Final receiving 43.48% of the total votes, making her Danish representative for the 43rd edition of the Northvision Song Contest held in Montenegro. This edition, she is also the second returnee from the second edition, reuniting with the Albanian representative Elhaida Dani. She is no stranger to the contest, where she almost took home the crown in the second edition with her Danish language song "Kl. 10", which was over 10 years ago, as she ended up being the runner up to the now disbanded group TinkaBelle with their song "The Man I Need".
Since her appearance in the second edition of the contest, she embarked on a short hiatus and during the later period of this hiatus, she worked on smaller projects, including an EP and a live album. Since 2016, she stopped her hiatus, where she released an English speaking album "We Will Survive" (2016) and a Danish speaking album "Grim" (2018) two years later. Since her release of Grim, she has released another live album in 2020 and married her partner in the same year. She also released various singles primarily in the Danish language and is rumoured to have a new album coming. She has also made numerous television appearances, including a 2022 documentary series about herself titled 'Medina'.
In Budva, she will be performing her Danish language dance-pop song "Danser For Mig Selv", making this the eighth appearance of country sending a Danish song to the contest. Prior to this edition, the most recent appearance of the language was Edition 35's entry "Sneblind" performing Medina's fellow DMGP 30 competitor, Nana Jacobi. Will she bring back Denmark to its former glory and finally potentially take the coveted crown over 10 years later?
Denmark in the Northvision Song Contest #43Medina - "Danser For Mig Selv" Lyrics: Medina, Celine Svanbäck, Jeppe London & Julie Bergen.

The delegation wishes her the best of luck in the contest. We hope you enjoy!

This house isn't mine no more GAZAL to represent Lebanon with Breathe!
Following speculation over its selection method, LBCI has revealed the outcome of its internal selection for the upcoming forty-third North Vision Song Contest in Budva. After a string of local representatives, it has been announced that Lebanon will be turning to its diaspora for the first time since Azure Ryder's top ten finish in edition #34 – and, in fact, once again to emerging talent from Down Under.
GAZAL
Stepping out from the behind-the-scenes world of songwriting to take the spotlight in the latter half of 2021, Sydney's GAZAL, the musical project of half-Lebanese-half-Australian singer-songwriter Alessandra Gazal, transports audiences into her own whimsical, pastel-hued, almost Scandipop-èsque soundscape.
Named 'one to watch' by Australian magazine RUSSH, GAZAL's music mirrors the intricacies of her intense emotions and 'scattered ADHD mind' – her tracks take the listener on a profound rollercoaster ride where each song becomes a real-time, introspective exploration of her attempts to navigate and understand life's complexities. Confessing unapologetically to making 'wacky shit', GAZAL's work serves as a cathartic outlet for her own difficulties with regulating her emotions. Her music provides an intimate glimpse into the mind of an artist using every note as a springboard into a therapeutic journey of problem solving and self-discovery.
A fan of artists including Little Simz, Del Water Gap, and Arca, GAZAL's five-track debut EP, I Accidentally Burnt The House Down, was released in November 2023, and features her NVSC entry, 'Breathe'.
« Breathe » Composer Alessandra GazalTimeslot 2:59+
GAZAL will be representing Lebanon with her 2023 self-penned single 'Breathe'. Within the song, she grapples lyrically with the experience of breakup, confronting the difficulty of moving on from a partner who she has let take over her life and invade every pore of her being. As she struggles for air trying to breathe on her own again, she realises how hard it is to let go and how much she has sacrificed in the name of love: 'This house isn't mine no more'.
Lebanon's NVSC journey made the best possible start as Nicole Saba won for the country on their debut in the fifth edition with 'Hafdal Ahlam', bringing the contest to Beirut for the sixth edition and starting a (to this day unmatched) three-edition qualification streak. The country's results from then on were rather turbulent, including two four-edition streaks of non-qualifications, although Myriam Fares achieved Lebanon's second best result with 'Nifsi Aoulhalak' in the fourteenth edition – second place.
A new delegation stepped in for the twenty-fourth edition, bringing Lebanon back to the final with Nelly Makdessy's 'Kunt Atmanna' in Vienna, and achieving three top ten results for the country (with 'Call Me a Stranger', '22' and 'Dear Jealousy') before passing the baton on to the current delegation team for the thirty-fourth edition onwards, returning to the final – and to the top ten – with Azure Ryder's 'Stronger'. The country has seen mixed results since, with Tina Yamout's 'Matloub' most recently bringing a streak of non-qualifications to an end in the forty-second edition of the contest. Brought to you by the Lebanese delegation on 30th March 2024

GANANDO DINERO, WILL SHE WIN NVSC? Kosovo confirmed participation on March 3rd, yet a very mystic 3 weeks ensued with the broadcasters making 0 further announcements, which prompted many fans to fear a late withdrawal.
Orchidea Latifi, professionally known as Kida will represent the Balkan country in the neighbouring Montenegro. Internally selected, the 26-year-old Prishtina-born singer has already conquered the charts in several European countries and will be making her NVSC debut in the semifinals.
The song, primarily in the Albanian language but with a few Spanish words, including the title "Dinero" (Money), is already a hit in the Balkans. Will it conquer Europe by giving Kosovo its first ever final qualification?

Best of luck, Kida!
