On the 23rd February 2013, it was decided (by you) that ISC would start allowing national selections! But what is a national selection? How can you create a national selection? Here are the basic rules/details!
[li] You must create a thread in the forums to announce that a national selection is taking place for your chosen country. Then it is up to you! You can either choose all of the songs that will enter your national selection or you can allow other users to submit a song for your national selection! You can also create a national selection for a specific artist/band.
[/li][li] Once submissions for each edition open, you can confirm your country for which you'd like to make a NS via YouTube. Then you can start announcing your national selections. Selections can be created for up to one edition in advance.
For example; Once submissions open for the 15th edition of ISC, that's when you can start announcing your national selections via the forums (once confirming your participation via YouTube).
[/li][li] The minimum amount of songs participating in a NS is 6 and the maximum amount of songs participating in a NS is 16. It is your decision how many songs each user is allowed to enter.
[/li][li] You must create a video recap for your selection and it must be available via YouTube. Whether users should vote via the comments section, the forums or both is your decision. If someone submits an entry to your national selection and gives you a specific time frame to use in the video recap, you must use it. If not and the participant makes a complaint, you may have to remake your video and users will have to submit their votes again. You can create semi finals for your selection, however make sure you have enough time to host a bigger selection.
[/li][li] The voting system is completely up to you. But remember; you do not have to create a results video, however you must provide a voting grid once each national selection has been completed. You must also provide a separate list of all the users who have voted in your selection. This is because each user that votes in a selection will get 1 point added to their user score.
If you host a NS, you will get 2 points added to your user score.
[/li][li]The voting period must last for a minimum of 3 days. It is your decision whether participants who have not voted on time should be disqualified. Results must be published before the current edition of ISC has been completed.[/li][/ul]
Still interested in creating a national selection in ISC? Here's how to do it!
Creating a national selection:
When announcing a NS, you must create a thread in the "ISC National selections" section. You should (in general) be creating a total of 3 threads for each selection; one to announce, one to vote and one to reveal the results.
Announce
Here is an example of how you should announce your selection.
#01: Selection for Vietnam (NS for ISC)
Message:
Hello and welcome to Selection for Vietnam!
Here are the rules: ...
Accepted entries: ...[/ul]
I will check the thread to make sure everything has been done correctly. If it has, I'll make the selection official!
Voting
Here is an example of what your voting thread should provide.
#01: Selection for Vietnam (Vote)
Message:
The recap is now up!
*insert video recap here*
*insert list of songs here*
Voting system: ...
Deadline[/ul]
Results
Here is an example of what your results thread should provide.
#01: Selection for Vietnam (Results)
Message:
Here are the results of Selection for Vietnam!
*insert voting grid here*
*insert list of voters here*
*insert video of winning song here*
Congratulations!
