Welcome to the Contest Forums! The goals of these forums are to unite as many contests as possible and to give the community a place to be together.
You can use this forum to host discussion threads for your contest or for advertising your contest. The easiest way to link to a thread from your contests video is to use a URL shortener such as bit.ly/ to make the link shorter and put it in your video description. You can also help others with keeping track of your contest by posting new entries in the Calendar. Make sure to read about the calendar in this thread before posting a new calendar entry. You will also find more information about the forums in that thread.
See Song Contest Wiki for a list of active or inactive contests and already used contest abbreviations.
Some contests will receive their very own board on the forums if we feel they are in a need of it. The only requirement is that you already have posted threads for your contest for a while in the "Other Contests" section of the forums. As you must understand, we can't have boards for every contest, but if you think you're contest is in need of it, you can ask us by sending a private message on the forums to either Dimitris, Kristoffer, Nikolai or Paulina. We will make a review of your contest and reply to you as soon as possible.
There are currently a lot of contests which means it will be difficult to find participants as many users already are participating in more contests than they can handle. Our current recommendation is not to start a new contest unless you are willing to do some advertisement on Youtube itself. Do not expect the forums to be a place for getting free votes. Many of the biggest contests here have made a long journey to be where they are today, starting with advertising their contest on Youtube to gather participants. It is currently recommended that if you are interested in managing a contest you should host a national selection instead. There are several contests here which use national selections to decide entries for some countries. Normally you will receive much more interest in a national selection then a completely new contest nowdays. While there are contests here which have reached over 30 editions, there are also national selections which have reached up to 20 editions.
