RTS not backing away.
With their next door neighbours Croatia pulling out, Serbian participation still remained unknown. Thankfully a bit of assurance has come from the Serbian broadcaster. They believe they're obligated to take part in the contest, with their 2008 contribution being received fairly well.
The only problem in participating are financial reasons. The costs of the Serbian participation are 350,000 Euros, where sponsors and advertisements cover 200,000 Euros. This means that RTS needs to cover 150,000 Euros in order to take part in Copenhagen.
Since 2007, Serbia usually announced its participation, and plans for the selection in January, the same year when the Contest is being held. The only time this announcement happened before was on the 18th of November 2012, when RTS announced their internal selection of Željko Joksimović representing the country.

Sanremo 2014 dates confirmed.
Sanremo, is one of Italy's most famous and prestigious weeks in Italian music. Various big music artists from the country perform on this highly acknowledged show. It's also how RAI select their Eurovision artists, as of now. RAI have said, they will 'most likely' be in Copenhagen.

PBS release selection details.
Malta have released the news, that they will continue their annual national selection. Entries can be submitted until the end of October. With the selected entrants to be announced by the end of November. All entrants must be Maltese or have duo-Maltese nationality.
The first round will be televised and take place in February or March 2014 and, from that, the successful 14 will proceed to the Final. 6 Judges, plus a 7th set of votes from televoting, will decide the outcome.
In the National final each Artist will only be allowed to perform 1 song. The voting will be the same as for the first round. Should there be a tie only the judges will have the casting vote.

Amaury Vassili arrested for possession of drugs.
He has been accused of smoking weed, apparently holding 20g of the substance.
As soon as he was realeased earlier today, Amaury declared on his Twitter account that he was “surprised by the magnitude of a simple ID controle, but that it’s true he was smoking illegal cigarette”. The singer finished with sincere apologies.
Serbian broadcaster RTS is still unsure whether to go to Denmark or not. With the financial struggle throughout Europe it's delaying their decision. They're expecting to comment on their participaiton next week. 
There are several negative reactions to HRT's withdrawal, criticizing them that smaller countries like F.Y.R. Macedonia and San Marino are still trying to compete despite being smaller companies. Some HRT staff are unhappy with the decision, as are Eurovision artists who have represented Croatia in the past. But the fans are the most hurt with the withdrawal.
Ira Losco, one of Malta's biggest musical stars is rumoured that she could be making a Eurovision comeback. With the release of her new album, showing off her capabilities in the music industry. However Ira has a big popularity to uphold, even being from a small island. This is just a rumour, so nothing certain. 
LTV have officially confirmed they will be in Denmark. Provisional dates for the 2014 edition of 'Eirodziesma' have been released.
