flagrainbowislands Rainbow Islands vs. Pohunskia Quarter-final *** Monday 29 June, 18.00 *** Beach Stadium, flagrainbowislands Kanevedenn *** Referee: flagrepublicablanca Joan Ferrer flagrainbowislands Julian vs. Logan Summary written by flagkeyholeland @aggrosantos2441 (thanks ) and slightly edited by flagantalorgia me After several weeks of silence concerning the CFA World Cup, which are now attributed to organisational chaos, the quarter-finals begin, and what an amazing way to start them. We see the hosts play off against Pohunskia, who got out of their group stage after a tie with Engeos, leaving Keyholeland behind. Thousands upon thousands of fans from the two countries gather in the stadium, hoping that their country will proceed onto the next stage. After both teams greet each other, the match begins, and the roars in the stadium are clearly audible. Both sides are playing to their maximum to try make it to the next stage of the tournament, and at the 26th minute of the game, midfielder Michael Midando scores for the Pohunskian side leading to strong opposition from the Rainbowish side. The fans were going crazy; the amount of Rainbowish people there outmatched the Pohunskians, but that did not stop them both from making their roars echo around the island they are playing on. At half-time, it's unknown which team will make it in the end, it seems that the Rainbow Islands still have 45 minutes to make the game theirs. At the 53rd minute, Tyler Imacomen is given the yellow card for offense towards a player in the opposition. All seems lost for the Rainbow Islands at this point, but it would certainly be untrue - at the 62nd minute, Thomas Gray strikes a goal, assisted by fellow teammate Albert Zweistein, into the Pohunskian goal. The crowd goes ballistic and continues to cheer their team on, with hope that they will make it. After mishaps and almost-goals from each side, at the 82nd minute, the president of the Rainbow Islands' son, Zacharias Avery, scores the islands' second goal and thus putting them into the lead. The crowd could not believe the sudden change of fortune and the two teams played until the very end, with both achieving at least a goal, and playing to their best.

Engeos vs. South Kordom Quarter-final *** Monday 29 June 21.00 *** Sport Arena, Ostadar *** Referee: Anna RamΓrez ππππππ vs. Matt Summary written by Dylan and slightly edited by me
After the host match against Pohunskia just finished, it's now time for the other qualifiers from the groups A & B to face off. Both teams are confident and fighting for a place at the semi finals but only one will win; enter the arena and we see red, yellow and blue on one side and blue and navy on the other! It's certainly a high turn out; with the Kordanese fans shouting their country's name in their languages and the Engeosians calling out Engeos in their language. Both sides meet each other and the referee officially throws the ball in and the game begins. The stadium is now roaring with the sounds being heard on the other islands. Only 12 minutes into the game and we have our first discipline. Hotaka from the Kordanese side is shown the yellow card, while the fans aren't too concerned about it, they still believe in their team. It's not however for the next 15 minutes that a goal is finally scored from either side. The Engeosian side scores! Del Souza assisted by KarpathΓon brought the first goal for the match and puts Engeos in the lead. The Engeosians are going crazy with this excitement, while the Kordanese are not impressed. The match continues for 30 minutes with nothing happening; a few near-goals here and there but no actual goals. Only at the 58th minute do we see the second goal, and it's the second for the Engeos side. Ubor scores for his team, with the scores now 2-0. The game continues until the 77th minute until South Kordom gets their first goal in this match and shines more hope for the team, with Smith scoring a goal for the Kordanese out of a free kick. The red, yellow and blue side roars with excitement. The game continues on until the last few minutes - it hits the 90 minute mark and out of a corner kick, Ubor scores again for Engeos and puts the score 3-1. Ultimately, South Kordom has been eliminated, and the fans are upset; Engeos succeeds onto Round 3 - the semi finals.

flagparola Parola vs. flagluir Luir-Landodios Quarter-final *** Tuesday 30 June 18.00 *** Arena of Keskesor, flagrainbowislands Keskesor *** Referee: flagarabiyyah Sophie Hille flagparola willsong vs. flagluir Luiri Summary written by flagkeyholeland Dylan and slightly edited by me
Newcomers Parola have made it this far to the semi finals; they qualified from group C - surprisingly enough placing first at the expense of defending champions Neptune - and Luir-Landodios, who have had experience with football before, have made it from group D. The stadium was green and red to symbolise both sides. Both sides looked fierce and ready to play the game, and anxious to play as one of them will certainly be left behind. The referee throws the ball and thus begins the game, with shouts coming from fans from both sides. It was, like in the Engeos v South Kordom match, quick action. In the 13th minute however, it was the first goal scored and comes from the Landodian Ril, assisted by Fantistiska. The Landodians scream in happiness with the first goal, which puts the Landodians into the lead very early, with 1-0. The Parolans continue to play to their very might - they have almost scored and made an impact on the game, but this was not to be. Only 13 minutes after the first goal, the Landodians score again - Seroi assisted by Fantistiska (again, fantastically) and puts the score gap even further. The Parolans are a bit upset at the moment, but continue cheering their team on while the Landodians are going crazy, continuously supporting their team. Not even 15 minutes pass - at the 34th minute Luir-Landodios scores their third goal, by Seroi (assisted by Fantistiska) again. This ultimate feat had not been seen just yet in these games, but to their surprise it was gonna get even better because at the 45th minute, Seroi assisted by Fantistiska, scores again and puts the score at 4-0. The Parolans can't believe what is happening while the Landodians can't keep quiet in the stall. 3 minutes pass and the 5th goal is scored by Ril; the Parolans keep cheering, but the team knows that the Landodians can/will win the game as the score is settled at 0-5. The game progresses until Seroi is replaced by Elskaaru, but this doesn't matter. The team has won the match with a record beating score (at least at the spring tournament) and certainly an unstoppable feat.
