Some small bits & pieces I've heard during a MF podcast that might be interesting to reveal: - Nano's song "Chasing River" is supposedly of the same genre as his first entry "Hold On" (DnB, gospel choir featured), but a little bit faster
- Anna Bergendahl, despite winning MF 2010, is still a unknown face to the Swedish public, and for Björkman to put her as the 7th slot in the first semi final definitely means that she potentially has a strong song prepared for us
- Tobbe Ek (aftonbladet MF reporter) was super confused over why SVT would bring over Andreas Johnson back, but he has heard very good things about his entry, and him being placed #1 in the semi also gives off some impressions
- Hanna Ferm & Liam both wanted to compete with separate songs, but was later offered a song for them to sing as a duo, and they gladly accepted the proposal
- Margaret originally mentioned that she was mostly competing more for promotion, rather than having Eurovision in mind, but sources have stated that her being placed #7 in the semi is no red-herring
- Jon Henrik Fjällgren has apparently taken a fairly different route from his first two songs. Fredrik Kempe has apparently managed to make the song "go a little bit Kygo" (a more modern production), and the chorus is suggested to be "a killer".
Jon Henrik himself will also continue including joik in the song, but that he will also sing during parts of the song. The nature-ish feel of the song will also remain as the previous two entries. - Lina Hedlund is apparently the "Party Voice" of this year (modern pop-schlager), but might struggle, considering she's not exactly a "solo" artist per se
- The wildcard from P4 Nästa, The Lovers of Valdaro, has been reported to finally have a good song in store (P4 Nästa acts have never done good in Melfest. The highest they've ever reached was two 5th places)
- Arvingarna, despite probably being portrayed as one of the "old timers" of this edition, is still considered a contender to qualify, especially since their following is still huge in Sweden (and that the lead singer recently won a new talent show)
- Lisa Ajax's entry, "Torn", has been reported to have been turned down by Loreen in 2017 (more in the way of "she tried the song, she didn't like it", instead of a "this or that" situation)
and that's probably about it. in only less than a week away, we will finally be hearing snippets of the first semi final acts, and the officially 2019 Melfest season can begin o/

I think I'm going to constantly root for Jon Henrik until he finally wins MF. He always brings a unique sound to MF, and I hope he has a great song that deserves an eventual win.

1. Anna Bergendahl - Ashes to Ashes (This is amazing! Her voice changed a lot - in a good way. Btw. she kinda reminds me of an older Zara Larsson! ) 2. Wiktoria - Not with me (Oh wow! I wasn't expecting a ballad from her. But it's a good one!) 3. Zeana ft. Anis Don Demina - "Mina bränder" (I think this could go to either side.) 4. Nano - Chasing Rivers (It's not bad, but it's much weaker than Hold on.) 5. Mohombi - Hello (Not that bad, but it really sounds like I've heard it before. And the chorus is too repetitive imo.) 6. Arja Saijonmaa - "Mina fyra årstider" (Is this a christmas song?) 7. High15 - No Drama (Meh - and it kinda sounds like last year's In my cabana.) And I voted for my top 4 in the poll.
