KVF will broadcast the eighth North Vision Song Contest!

To be able to debut, the Faroe Islands already broadcasted

the North Vision Song Contest since the fourth edition.

This edition, the broadcster will again broadcast the show

without being a participant.

The Faroe Islands chose their artist!

KVF just confirmed, that the rumours about Greta Svabo Bech
were true. She will make the debut for the Faroe Islands in the tenth
edition of the North Vision Song Contest!



Some time ago, Greta had posted on her twitter account, that she is
planning "something big" in relation to her country and the North
Vision Song Contest. Nothing about the possible song has been
unveiled, though. Except for the fact that Greta can
choose it on her own. The presentation of the song is
expected in Mid-August this year.

Greta has chosen her song!

This afternoon, KVF confirmed that Greta Svabo Bech,

the official representant of the Faroe Islands in NVSC #10 has

been finished writing her song. More information has been given

about the song. Greta was joined by the British DJ duo
Picture Book to write her a suitable

Dance-Pop song for the North Vision Song Contest.

The recordings and the editing for the song have been fully finished.

Only the music video is yet to be recorded. "We really think that this

song is a great debut entry for the Faroe Islands. We have had many

gigs in Tórshavn and we can just say that the atmosphere of these

tiny islands is just amazing. Greta is such a great choice for a debut.

Her impressive vocals really make this song what it is now."

The song is expected to be presented in Mid-August.

Faroese Entry Revealed!

It is a pleasure for KVF to reveal the official debut
entry of the Faroe Islands in the North Vision Song Contest.
As already stated, the singer of the song is Greta Svabo
Bech and the song was written and produced by
the DJ Duo Picture Book. The song is called "Sunshine".
KVF has high hopes to make a great debut in the contest.

KVF confirms!

This afternoon, the Faroese participation in the North Vision Song
Contest #11 was confirmed. A statement was given that for the first
time a National Selection will be held. Here are some first hints
on how the National Selection will look like:




The popular format "Rising Star" will be used to choose the Faroese
entry for the next North Vision! Here are some facts about the National
Selection that were revealed by KVF:

                          ✦ The show will be called "Rising Star Føroyar"

                          ✦ Known and unknown Faroese singers will take part

                          ✦ There will be 3 shows (two Semis and a Final)

                          ✦ All of the shows will offer a live voting

Artists

Famous and successful, aswell as unknown and new artists get the chance to show off their talent in Rising Star Føroyar. Before the show, a special jury decides which eight acts get the chance to present their songs to the public. Every artist must have a Faroese-Danish passport. Artists from other countries or regions are not allowed to enter the competition according to the official reglement.


Songs

All of the songs have to be original song by the artists themselves. Covers are not allowed. Each song has to have a length between 2:45 and 5:00 minutes. For the North Vision Song Contest, the songs have to be revamped as a 3-minute-version. Every artist has the right to select their song on their own. The jury that pre-decides on the artists cannot influence the artists' decision on the song. The songs are allowed to be sung in English, Danish and Faroese. All in all, the selection follows the NBU reglements.


Venue

KVF will choose the host city before each edition of the National Selection. Any Faroese city can apply to be the host city. It is yet to be decided whether KVF will host the shows in the same city each edition or in a different city each edition. According to a statement by the head of delegation of the Faroe Islands, the search for the perfect venue has already begun.


Presenters

There has not yet been a statement about who will present the shows.


Format

Each edition consists of three shows with a total amount of 8 songs by 8 different artists. The two Semi-finals and the Grand Final of the competition are held on saturdays each. In each Semi-final, four songs will compete while two songs of each Semi-final will advance to the Grand Final which again consists of four songs. The winner will be chosen in the Grand Final.


Voting

All of the shows are offering a live voting in which the public decides on each of the songs during their performances. Every viewer can vote via a special app if they want the song to advance (▲) or if they want the song to be out (▽). In the end, there will be a specific percentage that each song reaches. The maximum amount is 100%. From each of the Semi-finals, the two songs with the most amount of percent will advance to the Grand Final. The same voting procedure will be held in the Grand Final. This time though, the song with the most amount of percent will be the official Faroese entry for the North Vision Song Contest.

This basically means that we are going to watch each performance on
Togethertube and you can vote in a LIVE poll to determine which songs
will qualify to the Final and which song will win the selection!

More information about Rising Star Føroyar 01
has just been revealed by KVF!


The official venue, the host and a few candidates for
the show have been confirmed. The show will be hosted in
the Nordic House in Tórshavn which will probably also host
all of the future editions of the Faroese National Selection.




It was revealed that the presenter for the show would
be Regin Dalsgaard.






And also the first artists were confirmed as official
participants for the first edition. Here they are!

The other four artists have been revealed!

It has also been stated by KVF that all songs will be unknown
until their performance. As a reason, KVF claimed that it needs to be
"perfect on the first listen" and that people should rate objective.

"The line-up is complete!" the head of delegation of the Faroe Islands
stated. "Now we need to wait for the first show, which is scheduled to
11th October. The second Semi Final will be scheduled to 18th October."

The Final date is to be expected on 25th October but it has not
yet been set. KVF hopes that the show will be a success!

The preparations for the first edition of Rising Star Føroyar have
now been finished. The Nordic House in Tórshavn has turned out
to be the perfect choice for the show. The stage has been set up
and tomorrow, the first rehearsals will begin in the studio. On friday
the Semi-final 1 participants will have their dress rehearsals and on
saturday evening, the first of the three shows will start.
