Since her internal selection to represent Vradiazi in the first Fantasia Contest in Evergreen, Electric Nana has gained more recognition among the public of the country, and has already attracted attention in other countries due to her impending participation in the contest.

Along with the release of her debut album, "To Life!", the first Vradi singer in Fantasia Contest has given a televised music session via VradiTV and VradiFM, the national broadcasting media.

The session consisted on Nana making a little introduction to the album and her song in the contest, "Won't Stop", followed by an acoustic performance of it, and right after, she also sang a few songs included in the album. At the end, she thanked all the affection that she is receiving from the public, and reminded us to watch her performance in Fantasia Contest to feel all our support.

Introduction's translation (not included in the EP): "Hi! This is Mónica, Electric Nana, and welcome to the track by track of my first album, 'To Life!'. 'Won't Stop' is the first song in the album and, of course, it is the main single that we have chosen, mainly because this song is the reason why this album exists. I composed it two years ago, when I was not going through one of my best times at all, and I needed a little push to be able to overcome it and leave it all behind, and to carry out all those little changes which were going to take me to the place I am right now, and the chance to record this first album."

Early this morning in Vradiazi, there had been rumours that Seven Lions & Kerli, the already announced Vradi performers in Fantasia Contest 02 in Kerwan, might not represent the country because of an imminent worldwide tour which could interfere with their participation in the contest.

Hours later, due to the pressure in social networks, the duet called a press conference to make an official announcement. Seven Lions stated:

"We are sorry, but the rumours are true. We were considering the options and, although the Fantasia Contest is a great showcase to the world for artists, we decided that this is not our moment yet."

Kerli added:

"We didn't know the proper way to tell it since we have received a lot of affection from everybody, but we really want to be one hundred percent ready to represent our country when we don't have any other responsibilities. So that's why we don't rule out a future participation."

The two ended the conference thanking all the support and have confirmed that Vradiazi will continue in the contest. Moreover, they let slip that another singer/s could be already chosen.

Following her announcement as the Vradi representative in Fantasia Contest 02 in Kerwan, Ruth Lorenzo has released a special edition EP from her last album, "Planeta Azul" ( Latinican for "Blue Planet").

The EP has been presented in a press conference in Eylióc Ix (Urilx Islands), Ruth's hometown. It consists on 7 songs: five new songs in Engju, including her performing song, "99", and two more songs in Espaneole, already included in the standard edition.

Ruth Lorenzo about the new EP:

"My last work, "Planeta Azul" (Standard Edition), is mostly sung in Espaneole. The reason is because I've been learning it since I was a little child, and I used to spend my holidays in Angostura too, so I am more or less bilingual. However, I also sing in Engju, and now that I am going to perform in front of a worldwide audience, I wanted these people to be able to understand my music. That's the birth of this EP, a kind of Engju version of "Planeta Azul". I could have picked any song to perform in the contest, so I hope Fantasia likes my music!"

Many things in Vradiazi revolve around the number 8. There are eight regions, eight months, eight elements, eight days in the week, etc. For that reason, there is a very special moment in the life of a Vradi when the 8 makes sense: "Ojzeicur", or the day when you officially (and legally) become an adult, which is the day you are 8,000 days old.

The Ojzeicur is celebrated in many different ways, but it is always a big celebration with friends and family. However, it has symbolic meanings too: it is said that the friends who attend your Ojzeicur are for a lifetime. This is because your 8,000th day is close to your 22nd birthday, and you should already have more or less strong relationships with your friends at that age.

To understand the importance of this celebration, you need to keep in mind that birthdays are not celebrated in Vradiazi. Of course you have a "day of birth", but since the calendar is not the same one every year, people get one year older automatically when a new year starts. Instead of birthdays, Vradi people celebrate every time they get 1,000 days older, which is called "fyzeicur". This means that your Ojzeicur is your 8th fyzeicur, the 8th time you turn 1,000 days older.


So now you know that you should never forget a Vradi's fyzeicur, because they only have one when you have 3 birthdays!

One more time, a special EP promoting the next Vradi entry in Fantasia Contest 03 has been released. This time it's the turn for Alex and Genn, better known as the duo Urban Strangers, who will represent Vradiazi in Pavlodia, Lakadamia.

The 7 songs EP has been showed in a press conference in Fyzkader (Juvøri), their hometown.

Genn about the new EP:

"This album is one more achievement in our short musical career. It captures our purer style: alternative music, acoustic guitars, and a little rap."

Alex:

"We are very pleased with the result. Our voices match so well and we got to create that intimate atmosphere that we were looking for. We felt very comfortable doing this gem. We hope that you like it as much as we do!"

The Vradi Calendar is an old way of time measurement found in some scripts in the ruins of Land Emirnux, Vradiazi's southernmost island, where there is evidence of an ancient Vradi civilization. In 2009, with the formation of the modern country, the calendar was recovered and reintroduced, starting from Year 1 on. Every year is different from the previous and the next one, since the calendar is based on lunar phases. A whole study is behind it.

Today is Zroyni Finoce ("Final Thunder"), the last day of the Vradi Calendar. Officially, it ends at 5:00 AM (Vradiazi local time), and then the Ziklo 8 N.E. (8th Year of the New Airs) begins.

This year, on March 31st it is Eвki Ecuw ("Blue Arch"), the first waning moon of the year, and the official start of the new year.


Meaning of the names:

The Vradi Calendar almost always has 8 months, and each one has an element attached to it. The elements are (in order): Air, Wood, Fire, Gold, Sea, Light, Snow and Thunder. It is pretty evident now why this era is called "New Airs", and why the last day of the year is the "Final Thunder".

"Blue Arch" comes from the waning moon, and it is depicted in the coat of arms in the flag of Vradiazi.

VradiTV TO CHANGE NAME AND IMAGE

A few minutes ago (11:00 AM, Vradiazi Central Time), the president of VradiTV, the public broadcaster of Vradiazi, has announced a complete renewal of the channel's image, stating a "new cycle in Vradiazi's entertainment industry".

Thus, from now on, the network will be known as Vradi Redyó iw Tilevegøu (acronym VRIT). Also, the new logo has been presented:

VRADI NEW YEAR'S HOLIDAYS

As it was posted last year, the Vradi Calendar is an old way of time measurement used by the old Vradis in ancient times and reintroduced with the formation of modern Vradiazi in 2009. Every year is different from the previous and the next one, since the calendar is based on lunar phases.

During the end and the beginning of the calendar, the Vradis have a number of festivities that make up the most important period of national holidays in the country, which can last from two weeks to one month (end of March—beginning of April in the global calendar).

These festivities are:

• Zroyni Finoce: "Final Thunder", end of the year.
• Icur fge Eúlim: "Flag Day", adoption of the Vradi flag.
• Eвki Ecuw: "Blue Arch", official first day of the year.
• Noyv Eiroj: "New Airs", first day of the first month.
