Very strict measures being taken here including a state of emergency.
I developed a fever last night and I'm still worried I may have contracted it myself (due to the fact that I have been in contact with people who have been in contact with a student at my uni who has been diagnosed) and I am self-quarantining for the next couple of days to monitor my symptoms. I don't think I have it but better safe than sorry, if I get more symptoms I'm getting tested.

Well because of the measures taken in France now, my working semester abruptly ended today. I hope to somehow return back to Germany, but actually the French region here (Région Centre Val de Loire) is less affected by the virus then the German region I live in (Bavaria) I really don't know if I should stay the next 3 weeks here in France and wait until my flight OR if I have to find another way to return way sooner while being broke af. Srsly duh

I'm pretty sure I have it now. Things are looking bleak here. I cannot get tested because my symptoms aren't strong enough, the healthcare system is overwhelmed and medical and laboratory staff are all getting sick.
This thing is potent. Please listen to whatever your governments are telling you and keep yourselves safe.

Please listen to whatever your governments are telling you and keep yourselves safe. I think the same situation applies to most of the European countries, I mean here in Hungary it's also the case that if you don't have symptoms or they aren't strong enough, they won't check you (which is understandable due to the really low amount of workers at the healthcare system, but also really sad on the other hand). Try to stay calm and don't panic, we sincerely hope that you are okay and that it isn't actually what it seems to be.

Slovenia announced epidemic yesterday at 18:00. We have 141 confirmed cases. Most of them are from the Ljubljana region. Schools will close on Monday and stay closed for 2 weeks. Only critical cases are hospitalized. People should stay at home and definitely don't travel to other countries because they may charge you hundreds of Euros for quarantine. The first person with the virus was a Moroccan who came to Slovenia by public transport trough Italy and then waited for 90 minutes to be checked at a hospital and left without being admitted. Another big flop was a doctor who went skiing in Italy last week. Like what? The border with Italy is pretty much closed now. Hungary is carefully checking everyone trying to go there. Even Slovenian people aren't immune to being stupid and are buying out fruit, vegetables, meat, pasta, and toilet paper. Panicking and stress are definitely not helping with immunity. Take care, guys. Eat vitamins, drink enough water or tea, don't go out if you don't have to, and wash your hands as (reasonably) often as you can

About Switzerland:It's long (and probably a mess) so I put it in a spoiler. Until now we have: > 1'000 confirmed cases (from 24 / 26 cantons as of this morning) 7 deaths - however these need to be taken carefully because apart of a 54 years old man everyone was at least 76. All 7 people had chronic previous illnesses (hope that's understandable). I read just this morning that 2 students counted up that the percentage of all sufferers may in the end be at 70 % of the whole population. This afternoon our government gave a press conference. The fact that 4 / 7 members of it took part says enough, I guess. They announced several acions that are to be taken (a few of them are quite drastic). May I give you a short excerpt: All schools will be closed starting on Monday. It's for now planned until 4 April (3 weeks). All social events with 100+ attendees are forbidden (a few weeks ago that number was originally set at 1'000) and the ones below need to get approved by the authorities. That meant that several concerts needed / need to be cancelled. Among the respective list of artists are e. g. Halsey and Pearl Jam. Museums, Pools, Theaters, Cinemas, Skiing regions etc. are closed (if I understood correctly). The maximum amount of people allowed in Bars, Cafés, Restaurants, Clubs etc. is currently at 50 - including employees! Public transports are running normal. However we are recommended to not use it anymore - respectively aftwr / before rush hours. Sports: Ice Hockey: Due to the fact that social gatherings are basically not allowed anymore, the Ice Hockey association decided to end the first part of the season (which was only 2 matches for all teams a couple weeks ago) with no audience and decide afterwards. According to reports reported that the 12 Clubs in the highest league all-together lost over 2 milllions Swiss Francs only that weekend. The government of Ticino forbade all kind of soprts events (including training) earlier this week. Since that's affecting 3 teams in the 2 highest leagues the association was forced to end the season. Today they decided that there also won't be a champion - for the only second time ever (after 1940 'cause of WWII). The holding of the world championship in May is at this point not planned to be cancelled (not sure about that one). Football: Actually I don't remember a lot about that since there was so much going on recently. However they decided to have no matches in all leagues (men, women and juniors) until the end of April. Borders: A number of small custom offices (?) at the Italian border closed completely a few says ago. Several politicans even demanded to completely close the border, which is not happening. However border controls are in place and people are only allowed to pass if one's Swiss or working here. That's in order to prevent hospitals from being flooded by Italians. In actual figures: Everyday there are usually approximately 70'000 cross-border workers (only in Ticino). Now that's down to 30'000 (!). That however doesn't include the ones working from home ad well as people who moved to Hotels. As much as I'm aware France also closed all schools meaning that there will be far less cross-border workers in Geneva as well. Since the amount of French people working in the canton's hospitals is at 60 % that's probably going to be interesting. [/spoiler]
