WE HAVE A WINNER! We would really like to thank the 29/30 people who voted in the survey! We finally have a winner and that is...FOREIGN LANGUAGE SONGS! This means one thing...SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW OPEN! The theme requires you to submit songs that are not in English nor in any of your country's official languages. Some clarifications, as in Themed WWWSC #5, are the following:• Your entry can be in any language but just not in English or in any of the country's official languages! • Songs in dialects are allowed only if the dialect is not a dialect of an official language (e.g. Cyprus cannot submit a song in the Greek-Cypriot dialect as it is a dialect of Greek, which is an official language in Cyprus). • Regional/Minority languages can be sent (e.g. Austria can send a song in Croatian). • If the song is in a language that makes it eligible to take part for your country but say the title is some phrase in English, that's also allowed. Additional Restriction: Your entry may not be in the same language as your Themed WWWSC #5 entry, nor in any dialect of that language. The TWWWSC #5 entries, as well as the languages of previously submitted entries, can be found HERE. If your country did not compete in the 5th Edition, you are free to go for any language you like (as long as it does not violate any of the rules).Along with your confirmation post, please make sure to state the language of your entry, so that you make it easier for us to check the eligibility.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask us.Covers are allowed, unless the original or another version of the song has already participated in one of the contests (WWWSC, Retro WWWSC and TWWWSC are all considered). In general, all other basic rules apply, as always! In case your entry cannot be sent for this reason or another reason, we'll let you know asap. Of course remember that confirming is not enough, you need to actually post an entry to secure your participation!
As this is a 'Best Of' edition, there is no player limit! In case the limit of 30 participants is exceeded by many more players, the introduction of a semi final is possible.
Views Restriction Rule: From this edition on, the 100M views restriction is also implemented in Themed WWWSC.Submissions Deadline: Thursday, 29th of July @ 22:00 CET!Participants (30): Armenia (1:06+) Austria (1:48+) Azerbaijan (1:26+) Belgium (2:40+) Canada [1:54+] Chile (1:06+) Cyprus (1:15+) Finland (1:51+) France [2:56+] Hungary (2:32+) India (2:05+) Indonesia (3:04+) Ireland (2:48+) Japan (1:54+) Latvia (3:35+) Lithuania (2:03+) Malta (2:01+) Mexico (2:56+) Netherlands (1:51+) Norway [1:30+] Philippines (3:07+) Slovenia (0:32.5+) South Africa (1:47+) Spain (1:50+) Switzerland [1:58+] Taiwan (0:15+) Turkey (2:04+) Ukraine (1:12+) United Kingdom (4:08+) United States [0:32+]

Language: Spanish Timeslot: TBD Image: TBD I'm afraid that the entry is not eligible. Apparently REYKO is a duo consisting of a vocalist and a producer who are both Spanish - it is only based in London but this does not make them British, therefore not eligible to take part for the UK either.

This has recently taken part in Retro WWWSC and is therefore not eligible, I'm afraid. Edit: The language itself is ok, so another song in Breton would be acceptable

As the host nation, Ireland will obviously be participating. Welcome to Waterford! This edition, we will be sending a song in another Celtic language, specifically Breton which is spoken in the region of Brittany (Breizh) in France. The singer we've chosen is flagaustralia Siobhán Owen. She is a Welsh singer who was born in Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, who has also been living in Adelaide, Australia since the age of 2. However, she does have Irish heritage, specifically from her Irish mother from Galway. Her most recent album, Entwined, has songs in Welsh, Irish, Scottish Gaelic and Breton. She has also sung in other languages, such as French, German, Italian, Estonian, Latin, Spanish, Russian, Malagasy, Japanese, and Elvish (according to her linkedin). The song she will sing is An Hini a Garan which, like mentioned above is in the Breton language. An Hini a Garan (eng. "The one I love") is known as a gwerz and was composed by Jean-Baptiste Oliero, and to this day has many interpretations with many differences. However the version of the song that is sang the most would probably be close to that of Denez Pigent, who sang the song with Australian singer Lisa Gerrard. t/s: to be updated, it's a difficult song to take a timeslot from. Good luck! Pob lwc, go n-éirí le Siobhán, Chañs vat!

LATVIA My entry would be eligible for 2 themes - U18 (the singer was 16 at the release of the song) and Foreign Languages. Last time I went for portuguese and failed, so this time I'm going with something not as far-away and exotic - russian language, which, as you might know, is a minority language in Latvia. Although if you'd ask the russians who live in Latvia, many of them would say that it's the only official language in Latvia. Dina Kina - "Беги" ("Begi") Dina Kina - "Run!" (3:35+) PICS - #1 or #2 or #3 (the pics might expire soon, so, please, download while you can!)
