Tunisia confirms!
Today, Tunisian broadcaster Télévision Tunisienne officially confirmed Tunisia's participation in the upcoming 42nd edition of the Northvision Song Contest, set to be hosted in Portugal. The announcement follows Tunisia's commendable 17th-place finish in the grand final of the latest edition, where the song "Ana Wein," performed by Jordan-Palestinian singer Zeyne, garnered 170 points. This achievement is even more noteworthy as it marked Tunisia's third consecutive appearance in the contest's grand final, a feat not accomplished since the qualification streak during the 28th, 29th, and 30th editions over a decade ago.
Moreover, the broadcaster has announced the return of the "Maghrebi Music Fest" as the official national selection method for determining their entry. According to the broadcaster, the selection, a collaborative endeavor between neighboring Morocco and Egypt, carries importance in highlighting the rich musical traditions of North Africa and the wider Arab World, especially within the European character of Northvision. As such, the country is eager to continue developing this festival.
The second edition of the Maghrebi Music Fest is open now! Please check it out HERE.

Following the stunning sixth place in the last edition of NVSC (thank you all so much for that I still cant believe it) and henceforth the autoqualification to the next edition's final, Monaco confirms its continued presence at the North Vision Song Contest. Given the succesful result in the last edition, the broadcaster sees no reason to change the song selection process, meaning that once again the entry will be selected internally.

TURBULENT DEBUT A long-anticipated debut was materialized in the 41st edition, with Mimoza waving the Kosovar flag in the pre-qualification round. Nevertheless, she didn't make it to the semifinals in Austria. The result, however, was not the only incident of the edition.
Following the pre-qualification round, Ledri Vula, one of the rumoured names, claimed that the delegation's decision was non-objective and that Mimoza was selected over him due to connections in the broadcaster rather than musical criteria and threatened legal action. He went on to participate in the Montenegrin national selection. RTK outright refused such remarks, however, he later represented Kosovo in the Balkan Music Bash, leading many to speculate a potential compromise.
Steffi Stanković's comments during the Grand Final over Kosovo being Serbia sparked a massive reaction in Kosovo with many calling for the boycott of the 42nd edition and RTK filing a formal complaint with the NBU over the incident.
The Kosovar jury's decision to only award to Albania and to Bosnia and Herzegovina was also heavily criticized in the country. RTK, however, stood by the jury and congratulated them on voting objectively, stating that international relations should not reflect how the country votes.
A scandal was also incited among the Northvision fanbase, with claims that Azerbaijan had manipulated the televoting, placing 2nd in the Kosovar televote only behind Albania. An investigation into the matter has been commanded.
Overall, the debut was far from being succesful and the upcoming incidents put the country's participation at heavy risk. During a press conference held earlier this month, the Head of Delegation confirmed the skepticism and announced that he "didn't know" whether Kosovo would take part or not.
Nevertheless, a long-awaited follow-up press conference was held earlier today in Prishtina to settle the issue.
Kosovo will participate in the 42nd edition in Portugal.
SELECTION METHOD UNCERTAIN Following the scandal between RTK and Ledri Vula, many called for RTK to hold a national selection, with a public televote, to select the entrant. RTK announced that "the scenario has been considered", but listed several issues with hosting a national selection at this point.
The selection is expected to either be internal, or a small national selection.
Several names have been heavily rumored, yet RTK did not give any hints.
Prishtina, Kosovo - RTK - 21st of October 2023

Lebanon confirms for NVSC #42!
LBCI has announced today that Lebanon will compete at the forty-second North Vision Song Contest, making its thirty-sixth appearance in the competition as it heads to Portugal for the first time.
Whilst dwindling viewing figures stemming from poor results have plagued the broadcaster over the past few editions, the broadcaster is said to be ‘optimistic’ ahead of the upcoming contest, after Aziza exceeded expectations in Graz to become the edition’s highest-scoring non-qualifier with ‘Ayayay’.
« We are so incredibly proud of Aziza, who came within touching distance of Lebanon’s first final since NVSC #37. The last time Lebanon came eleventh in its semi-final was just before our current Head of Delegation took over: if Azure Ryder could bring us back to the final then, we’re hopeful we can do it again now. » Introducing NAHDAThe logo for NAHDA #42
With the threat of Lebanon’s longest ever non-final streak looming, LBCI is said to be keen to up its game, and for the forty-second edition to be a turning point for the country’s fortunes in North Vision. In a case of ‘out with the old and in with the new’, after three editions between NVSC #34 and #39, mahrajan al’aghnia has officially been scrapped, but a new national final format is on its way.
NAHDA, Arabic for ‘revival’ or ‘renaissance’, will feature a lineup of ten songs competing to represent the Middle Eastern nation. LBCI has used its press release to reveal the selection’s logo, though further information is expected imminently. Lebanon's NVSC journey made the best possible start as Nicole Saba won for the country on their debut in the fifth edition with 'Hafdal Ahlam', bringing the contest to Beirut for the sixth edition and starting a (to this day unmatched) three-edition qualification streak. The country's results from then on were rather turbulent, including two four-edition streaks of non-qualifications, although Myriam Fares achieved Lebanon's second best result with 'Nifsi Aoulhalak' in the fourteenth edition - second place.
A new delegation stepped in for the twenty-fourth edition, bringing Lebanon back to the final with Nelly Makdessy's 'Kunt Atmanna' in Vienna, and achieving three top ten results for the country (with 'Call Me a Stranger', '22' and 'Dear Jealousy') before passing the baton on to the current delegation team for the thirty-fourth edition onwards, returning to the final - and to the top ten - with Azure Ryder's 'Stronger'. The country has seen mixed results since, with Venus Bleeds' 'Revelation' being the country's most recent qualifier in the thirty-seventh edition of the contest. Brought to you by the Lebanese delegation on 21st October 2023
