I feel a little better now (hurrah, paracetamol!), so here are the results of yesterday's matches!

flagusof Sel v Jericho (Super inactive)
USoF beat Maharlika in matte match
The same Maharlika that crushed the Dasmian hopes last Tuesday has now lost 2-1 against the debuting United States of Flowers in a match that did not feature so much action.
Both teams sat on the fence, making it a boring experience for the audience. During the first half, there was just one climax, in the 9th minute, when USoF defender Angel Wise tried to head the ball into the gate during a corner, but his head missed the ball and hit the goalpost instead. He left the field with a light concussion and was replaced by Alton Curtis.
The second half was a bit more exciting. In the 50th minute, Maharlika goalkeeper estimated the speed of a backpass wrongly. It bounced off his foot, USoF midfielder Emilio Santos caught it and passed it on to striker Reginald “Regi” Fox, who kicked the ball into the empty goal.
In the 75th minute, the tension returned as Maharlika defender Alexis Camero fumbled the ball inside the United States gate after a corner kick. Only five minutes later, though, Regi Fox scored once more, this time out of a penetrating pass by midfielder Mark Newton. The game ran aground then, Maharlika coming off badly and the United States celebrating their victory in their first ever interland.

Group C *** Thursday 12 February 21.00 *** Van Dalen Stadium, Tibrograd *** Referee: flagrepublicablanca Joan Ferrer

Atlantis follow Antalorgia through back door
After the hosts of the very first CFA World Cup, Antalorgia, failed to qualify to the quarter-finals, the popular Atlantian team has been eliminated, too. They lost their second match in a row, this time against the debutants of Erezin Halla, with a score of 2-1.
Erezin Halla scored in the third minute already, as Billy Harrigan took a corner kick and Darren Lehew made a goal out of it by performing a magnificent forward dive. They backed away after that, knowing Atlantis would use every opportunity to score whenever Erezin Halla put their foot in it. But the Erezin defence was strong enough to withstand the Atlantian attacks.
In the second half, Erezin Halla scored in the third minute once more, again out of a corner kick, but this time the kick was taken by Shane McGawn and turned into a goal by Martin Versheen. Atlantis tried counterattacking once more, but failed to score all the time until the 90th minute, when Alphonse McDade fumbled a cross-pass by Ashley Battista into the Erezin gate.
